A CNN focus group comprised of Democratic voters has rejected former Vice President Joe Biden as their presidential nominee.
The focus group's dismissal of Biden is notable since the former vice president, who is expected to join the Democratic primary soon, has been leading a number of public opinion polls and is seen as the potential front-runner.
The Democrats gathered by CNN, however, said they weren't interested in Biden. Some said they wanted a candidate who was further to the left.
“I think we need a bold, strong leadership, and you’ll find that in the progressives," Democratic voter Carol Evans said.
“We had the standard-bearer for the kind of pragmatic centrist candidate in Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Donald Trump is now president. He is not your average political candidate, so we really need to try to think outside the box because, you know, it seems like the dude is made of rubber. Anything you throw at him just bounces off, there’s nothing that sticks," said focus group member Michael Milisits.
Several progressives, including Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), have entered the race.
The focus group was moderated by "New Day" co-anchor Alisyn Camerota at CNN's New York City bureau.
When she asked if any of the focus group members would like Biden to enter the race, none of the six people raised their hands.

Based upon my observations, we are essentially repeating the 1968-1972 experience. There was great inner conflict (then because of the Vietnam War and the counter-culture movement, now because of a fundamental break between the two political philosophies that have animated Western Civilization for the last 200 years - Collectivism vs. Individualism), which in 1968 made the (hated by the media) Nixon President and in 2016 made the (hated by the media) Trump President.
Then, in 1972, as the flames were fanned by uber-radicals and the media, the Dems nominated a far-Left (for the time) candidate, George McGovern. This time it is anyone’s guess who will be nominated, but Joe Biden is this cycle’s Edmund Muskie (i.e. the favorite of the sensible people who simply cannot win - but I don’t think that Biden will cry about it). However, the Dem nominee will be barely distinguishable from a literal Communist on policy grounds, and will lose, BADLY, to Trump as McGovern got slaughtered by Nixon.
Differences: I sure hope that Trump, unlike Nixon, keeps it completely clean (and he’ll be under a microscope, so he pretty much HAS to do that). That will provide the difference - no huge Republican scandal in 2021-2024 that is akin to Watergate means that the Republican candidate in 2024 will actually have a reasonable chance. Of course, there is the continued huge influx of immigrants and voter fraud that will help the Dems (just WHY does it always help the Dems, I wonder? /s).
Anyhow, that’s my read. An uber-Leftist on the Dem side will ensure a 2nd Trump term. Trump is FAR better than Nixon, in that he is actually governing like a conservative (esp. in judicial nominations). The economy should continue to do well, which ***could*** help to turn a lot of millenials to the conservative side of the aisle in the same way that the successes of (hated by the media) Reagan changed the political landscape for quite a while.
That shall always remain one of History’s great mysteries.
WHY on Earth did Nixon decide to get cute with the Watergate stuff? He would have stomped the turf with McGovern without having to do hardly ANYTHING.
I know some Trump voters who would have voted for Bernie had he been the nominee. They see Bernie as “even more outside the establishment” than Trump. Those of us who pay attention know better than that, but yes, Trump definitely benefited by the fact that Hillary was an awful tone-deaf candidate. A real stiff.

Biden is the Michael Jackson of the Democrat party.
Bernie would have beaten Trump.

We can conclude from this that CNN doesn’t favor Biden and prefers leftist radicals. Who knew?
The only reason the media-driven Dem didn’t win was because it was Hillary Clinton. She had a huge hate factor with most men and plenty of women. Trump’s Brooklyn tough boy routines and name calling would not have flustered him, either. With the media behind him, he would have done it.
So do I.
To me, he is outside the solar system.

There are some excellent revisionist history books on the Watergate scandal.
Nixon was corrupt, and he was concerned that the Democrats had the Howard Hughes files—they were hard evidence Nixon had been paid millions over the years to steer military industrial complex contracts to Hughes companies.
Those files could have gotten Nixon impeached and jailed—regardless of who the Democrat nominee was.
The Deep State wanted Nixon under their thumb, so their agents on the Nixon team made sure there were lots of clues left for investigators to find.
Blackmail in DC is normally used to pressure the victim to do the Deep State’s bidding—if that is not successful they then move on to more “active measures” (up to and including murder if necessary).
I reject CNN.
Watergate was an unforced error, to be sure, but he believed he had to know everything his adversaries were up to in order to be safe. Remember. Watergate was an attempt to bug the rat headquarters so he could find out what the democrats were plotting.
Sort of tragic in the dramatic sense that his very attempt at using his power to safeguard his campaign led to his downfall at the hands of the very people he feared.
Nope, even moderate demonrats would bail on socialist/commie Bernie. He doesn’t have a chance.
I pity you; fortunately for me I don’t have any LIBERAL acquaintances.
