I think that Sandmann being represented by some legal firepower is giving some people second thoughts about sweeping such instances under the rug. Why?
Berkeley realized that they may be facing real legal liability if they continue to blow off the assault. What if the assault victim winds up being represented by similar legal counsel, a high profile aggressive attack dog type?

The reward was announced yesterday I think, which may be why Berkeley is reopening the case, they know they’ve been caught.
