The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, sponsored by Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE), failed. 44 DEMOCRATS voted against, 53 Republicans for. Needed 60 votes.
Forgone conclusion.
Just more grandstanding by Sasse to make people forget about his support of illegal aliens.
Enough. The GOP needs to go nuclear and make EVERYTHING a simple 51 vote threshold to pass.
Manchin and Jones are the only two RATS who seem to still have a conscience to protect innocent newborn life.
BTW, Coons ought to be banished from the National Prayer Breakfasts, he hosts with Lankford!!!
YES. Nuclear Now!!
Obama voted the same way when he was an Illinois State Senator. Dems are for their own convenience, which includes killing a baby if it may temporarily be a burden to them.
Disgusting
And Catholics are the “base” of the Rat Party?
Must be hard to look in the mirror on Sundays
I’m glad that this vote put them on record as baby killers.
That’s exactly what they voted for.
Yes. The turtle could, if he wanted to, or the Republicans demanded it, invoke the Constitutional mandate that requires only fifty-one votes to pass a bill.
Thanks to the freeloading socialist voters, we’re outnumbered pretty bad these days. The dumbing down of America has been a huge success.
Sad.
Infanticidal maniacs. This is literally true.
And who didn’t vote?
It’s virtue signaling to get the Dems on record anyway. It would never even make it to the floor of the House.Nice to see all Reps voted for it though.
I would assume an important purpose was to force Democrats running in '20 to go on the record as junior Mengeles. Since the President will also be pushing the pro-life issue, this is a good thing.
It's a given that we need the Wall to proceed at 90 m.p.h. as well.
Jones just wants to get reelected in Alabama. No conscience for that guy.
Grandstanding???
That bill will speak volumes in the 2020 election as a leg up for Republicans running against any of the Dems on the list. No pro-lifer in good conscience could vote for any of them - including Roman Catholics.
Kabuki. If there’d have been 59 votes, one of the GOPers would’ve “prayerfully” opposed the bill.
Grandstanding???

Now we know where they stand.
