“Empire” actor Jussie Smollett has been charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report about an attack he said occurred as he walked to his apartment building in Streeterville last month.

The charge, a felony, was announced by the Cook County state’s attorney’s office Wednesday evening, hours after police called Smollett “a suspect in a criminal investigation … for filing a false police report.”

Earlier in the day, attorneys for Smollett, 36, met with prosecutors and detectives but it was unclear if the actor was present, according to police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. The lawyers, Todd Pugh and Victor P. Henderson, could not be reached for comment. They have been joined by high-profile, Los Angeles-based lawyer Mark Geragos who has represented numerous celebrities, including pop star Michael Jackson, R&B singer Chris Brown and actress Winona Ryder.

On Tuesday, two brothers who had been under arrest in the case appeared at the criminal courthouse, also to talk to prosecutors and detectives, authorities said. They and their attorney, Gloria Schmidt, were seen near the grand jury rooms Tuesday afternoon, but police said they did not appear before a grand jury.

“I think of disorderly conduct as flipping over a table in a restaurant, or yelling because I didn’t get enough ketchup.”

You better think again.

So, some predictions appear to be correct.
1. He’s a liar.
2. He’s a dumbass.
3. He’s totally incompetent.
But...he’s got four get out of jail free cards.
1. He’s black
2. He’s gay.
3. He’s a liberal (goes with 1 and two on the first list.
4. It’s Chicago, a white hole of corruption, crime, and Democrats.

So, well, you know.
At least the Chicago police did what appears to be an honest job.

Nothing will happen.

According to Illinois Statute, disorderly conduct occurs when a person knowingly: ... Transmits a threat of destruction of violence, death or bodily harm to a school building or persons at a school—Class 4 felony. Transmits a knowingly false report of a criminal offense to a police officer—Class 4 felony.Nov 17, 2015

I'm good with Disorderly Conduct, so long as it is a felony.

They seriously had 11 police detectives working full time for two weeks on a disorderly conduct charge?

Or Crook County is tring to convince the Feds they’re taking this seriously in the hope that the Feds won’t want to charge Smollett in addition.

This case never sees a courtroom. Once Kwame Raoul and JB get their slimy little hands involved (Kim Foxx recused herself, I believe), they’ll probably give Jussie the keys to the city in a plea bargain.

Most importantly, if he is guilty of this felony, will he lose the right to vote?

Accordingly, Illinois state laws include several other types of acts that qualify as disorderly conduct:

making a false report of a fire or fire alarm making a false report of a bomb or explosive device making a false report of a crime in progress or a past crime, or requesting emergency response services while knowing that assistance is unnecessary making a false report about an abused or neglected child making a false report to the Department of Public Health entering another person's property to look into a dwelling for a lewd or otherwise unlawful purpose using harassment or intimidation as a debt collector or collection agent

Illinois Disorderly Conduct Laws in Brief

Specific details about disorderly conduct laws in Illinois, including charges and penalties, are listed in the following table.

Statutes 720 Ill. Comp. Stat. Ann. § 26-1 et. seq. Sentences and Penalties

Illinois state laws determine the penalty for a conviction of disorderly conduct based on the type of charge. Misdemeanor charge can result in a sentence of imprisonment for up to 30 days, six months, or one year, depending on whether the state charges the offense as a Class C, Class B, or Class A misdemeanor. The state may also impose a fine in a maximum amount between $1,500 and $2,500.

Disorderly conduct charged as a felony may result in an increased punishment. A Class 4 felony may result in a term of imprisonment for one to three years, while a Class 3 felony can lead to a sentence of two to five years.

For a Class 3 felony, the Illinois disorderly conduct laws specifically require a fine in an amount between $3,000 and $10,000.
