Authorities have issued subpoenas to obtain records from Empire’s Jussie Smollett amid reports the actor-singer allegedly staged a racist and homophobic attack on himself last month, according to a report Wednesday.

The report comes as lawyers for Smollett meet with prosecutors and police investigators.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said he did not know if Smollett was attending the meeting or the specifics of what was being discussed. He declined to confirm reports that subpoenas had been issued for the actor’s phone and bank records.
Smollett’s lawyers, Todd Pugh and Victor P. Henderson, did not reply to AP requests for comment Wednesday.

Gosh Jussie Smollett initially would not turn over his cell phone to the police. Gosh, Jussie Smollett deleted some pics and messages and then turned his cell phone over to authorities. Gosh the 2 men he said attacked him, poured liquid on him and put a noose around his neck were white guys wearing red MAGA hats. Gosh, Jussie Smollett isn’t volunteering to turn over his records to the police. He was subpoenaed. Okey dokey.
Gosh, Jussie Smollett had a prior incident in LA, driving without a license, and giving false info. To the police. He got 2 years probation.
Gosh Jessie gets support from Robin Roberts, The Obama’s, Kamala Harris, Maxine, Nancy, Adam Stiff, Cory Booker, Dick Durbin, Kirsten Gillebrand and other Democrat luminaries. Gosh I wonder who is paying for the expertise of Mr. Geragos who is not licensed to practice law in Illinois?
