She didn't exaggerate her American Indian ancestry if there was none at all. The DNA report of 1/1024th is meaningless--apart from being a comparison to indigenous groups in Latin America, not the US. Very small amounts are just noise, not evidence.

Native Americans compose the majority of the population of the USA. Everyone born to an American citizen who can commute the citizenship is a Native American. That group includes those born in the USA, in service in foreign countries and territories.
