Back in the day, my native New York State feasted on the iconic I♡NY ad campaign, enticing Americans to drop in and spend their dollars in the Big Apple.
But now, were being treated to the spectacle of the states governor selling not New York, but Florida!
In a recent press conference, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo blamed a $2.3 billion budget deficit in New York on the compounding effect of federal tax reform on the states sky-high taxes. And according to the Wall Street Journal, (Cuomo) specifically mentioned Florida as an attractive option for New Yorkers who are unhappy with the change in the tax law.
The Journal article also points out, Preliminary data show a jump in Florida home purchases by buyers from high-tax states.

For us freedom-loving Floridians, however, there's a rub. It seems all too many blue-state refugees, having found haven from tax-spend-regulate oppressors, turn around and import the very same blue-state politics that caused them to flee in the first place.

No. The POS. Is blocking any removal of gas from the southern tier. The folks there are in Red Counties. They also are in a very economically depressed area. There is a movement afoot to secede from NY into Pennsylvania.
Cuomo is filth.
At least you're not as lethal as the Massholes (I am one of those now living in Virginia). The statistics are unassailable, of course you are an inidividual and are as conservative as you aspire to be.
Take note of what people are saying here. And these are American citizens doing it to the South!
If you factor in the effects of the illegal invasion, the picture is bleak, mighty bleak.
Please don’t fret because I am never moving to North Carolina. A friend moved from ny to Fla to cary. I visited her every year. Lovely brick 4 bedroom home good schools low taxes. It was boring. I live 30 min from ocean, 45 min train to Broadway,2 hr from mountains. Voted straight Republican.
And bring them to Miami-Dade?
Fix what, exactly? That we’ve indoctrinated stupidity for the last 70 years? Should he suspend interstate travel?
Colorado is done. It is solid Blue now. We just elected an openly homosexual governor.
I find ALL LIBS to be malignancies on civil society everywhere .
” I live 30 min from ocean, 45 min train to Broadway,2 hr from mountains. “
I’ve known far too many people in NYC to now it takes hours just to drive a few miles. 2 hours to the mountains, only at 2:00am.
Here in CA, both legal and illegal immigration for too long
has turned the state solidly blue. The next step for CA is to be ruled by Latinos.
Leftists are human locusts.

“...I am never moving to North Carolina...”
Thank you.....
“ruled by latinos”
Whoops!
Too late!
Don’t be obtuse. You specifically might not be part of the problem, but can you deny that this effect is happening? NC is turning into a Democratic hell hole - and it isn’t because people who are natives all of a sudden decided high tax/socialist policies were good for the state.
I drive to the mountains almost every weekend. 2 hours as long as you don’t go rush hour. I’m retired so I can leave whenever I want.
Stop it.
New Yorkers are tough people. We built America, we built NY.
We rebuilt our city after the dark days of September 11, 2001.
I am a New Jerseyan now, but I was born in NYC.
NY has not voted for a Republican presidential nominee since Reagan.
It’s the GOP’s fault that Dole, Bush 41/43, McCain, Romney and even Trump couldn’t turn it red.
Trump should campaign in Upstate NY.

“If you fled your fail state for economics opportunities elsewhere, do not vote your failed state ways”.
Hubby and I fled VA a year ago to retire in Alabama. Hope were safe here until we die.
I was a corporate brat and spouse. Alabama is my 12th state of residence. Sweet Home Alabama.
There is no hope....in twenty years we will be doomed..There will only be four or five red states..
I fled New York in 1980....
I fled Colorado in 2000
I guess I may have to Flee Florida next..
But where do you go ????
North Dakota ??
