BREAKING NEWS.
Fox 32 reporter Rafer Weigel said Saturday afternoon that Chicago police sources confirmed detectives were able to show that the Nigerian brothers who were persons of interest and questioned by police, bought the rope found around Jussie Smolletts neck at Ace hardware.
Jussie Smollett alleged two white Trump supporters violently attacked him at 2 AM in the streets of Chicago when he was walking home from Subway with a sandwich in his hand.
Smollett told police the attackers were white and hurled homophobic and racial slurs at him while they beat him, poured bleach on him then put a noose around his neck.
Strangely, Mr. Smollett still had the rope around his neck when the police arrived to his apartment to take a report of the attack.
According to Rafer Weigel, the Nigerian brothers agreed to cooperate with police after the police threatened to charge them with battery.
There are unconfirmed reports that Smollett paid the two brothers to perform the alleged scheme, Rafer Weigel reported.

Jussie is already checked into some kind of rehab by now. Hes got Harvey Weinsteins PR team on the job.
They could have saved big money at Menards.
He went double or nothing with the “poor me in racist America” TV interview. The police are not gonna appreciate him dragging this thing out.
I wager that Jussie thought these two were so stupid, that for whatever he paid them, they'd carry out his plans.
And he'd get away with it.
It doesn't say much for what Jussie thought of his bros.
I'd even call it "racist".
Watch Jussie throw his "brothers" under the bus to save his own hide.
Not illegal to be part of a hoax. Illegal, though, to commit battery, or to conspire to commit the crime of filing a false police report. Fessing’ up gets them away free and clear, and their lawyer explaining that is probably why they did the sudden reverse from uncooperative witnesses to helpful witnesses.
“Couldnt they technically be charged with conspiracy to commit a fraud?”
Conspiracy to defraud, yes. Conspiracy to commit a fraud, no. One involves obtaining obtaining something of value under false pretenses, the other’s just lying.
I worked in Hollywood, on this guy’s first series. Don’t put any money on that.
Their bias is revealed in the priorities when reporting. Unsubstantiated claims are national headlines news and given massive coverage. The retractions are almost never given local press beyond a bottom page mention.
Fox? As a general rule I no longer do TV. Is that the same organization and it’s top experts and pundits who repeatedly inferred and declared Trump would never be President?
20 is easy. Unfortunately, it could take a year or more for any litigation/trial etc., if that’s where this goes.
And I’ll say this, even if Smollet were to get a role after this is all done and said, his career is will be in decline and fade, as he will have alienated a good portion of the country. He will become a stigma, something to avoid, an ugly liar who got caught. And if those two point the finger at this guy he’s done done. Then again, maybe he could go do gay porn in some production out of Ciudad Juarez.

You obviously dont know Hollyweird. Hollywood has already written off half the country. The Fox entertainment network which carries the show he was about to be cut from has resurrected his role. I dont do television either because I know of the garbage shows, actors, execs, advertisers and fans.
I’m pleasantly surprised that CPD went after this so hard. Jussie must not have the right political connections.

At this moment, CBS is reporting the rope was purchased at Crafty Beaver Hardware.
We’ll see.
I hope that’s not a joke...lol..What a knee slapper!
Too bad it didn't work out they way he thought!
Yeah, my first reaction was, “oh come on”. The item’s real, but I’m not sure the reporter isn’t getting punked. The closest I’ve come to immediately believing anything in this turkey trot is the “well, it’s not impossible” standard.
