Trump forced to declare emergency because of congressional apathy, negligence and incompetence
Fox News ^ | February 16, 2019 | Hans A. von Spakovsky

Democrats are calling President Trump every name in the book and threatening multiple lawsuits to overturn his Friday declaration of a national emergency on our southern border.

The president is using the declaration to enable him to shift funds already in the federal budget to border security. The shifting of money from one set of priorities to the more urgent priority of border security will allow the president to spend over $8.1 billion to build barriers along part of our border with Mexico and fund other border security measures.

But listen to the angry denunciations of the president by outraged Democrats. You’d think he’s throwing out the Constitution, banishing every member of Congress to the wilderness, and proclaiming himself an all-powerful dictator for life – an American version of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

It should go without saying that President Trump is doing no such thing. In truth, the president is using his constitutional authority in the same way other presidents have, in order to find money to deal with an emergency.

And make no mistake, the crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border is a real emergency – not a figment of Trump’s imagination.

Think of what the president is doing in terms of your family budget. You have money set aside to buy a new car. Then a member of your family gets seriously ill and requires emergency medical treatment that costs you several thousand dollars not covered by your health insurance. What do you do? You postpone buying the new car and use the money for emergency medical care.

It’s a shame that it has come to this.

The legislation to fund government operations – averting another partial government shutdown – was passed by Congress and signed into law by the president Friday.

They are no more traitors than the Republicans who sent him that horrible bill. And the turtle actually called it a good start.

We ought to be discussing the real reasons for the opposition to Trump’s campaign promise to take action to resolve the border crisis.

First, the obvious reasons:

The Democrats have adopted an open borders strategy as their only reasonable approach to regaining their political power. To wit: import voters to overcome the resistance of Americans to their policies.

Politicians of both parties are responding to the demands of their big donors who want more access to cheap labor.

Secondly, Unlikely reasons:

Desire to take care of the poor and downtrodden people of the world.

Advance the causes of multiculturalism and diversity to make the U.S. a paradise of tolerance.

The real reason:

Politicians of both parties are completely corrupt and have been bribed and co opted by the drug cartels and other criminal organizations who are enjoying massive profits in the illegal commerce associated with open borders. For the organized crime syndicate aka the Democrat Party, they are almost certainly partnered with the cartels to their mutual benefit. The Mexican government and several of the other Latin American government are co-conspirators as well as legitimate organizations. If this is really going on, the press will never report it, largely because that is a great way to have an unfortunate fatal accident.

Will the DOJ, under new management, do something about it and start investigating and prosecuting those who are culpable? The real criminals could make Manafort, Stone, and even Hillary look like people who have overdue library books.

We absolutely NEED to have a big, beautiful wall along the southern border due to the insane immigration laws passed by the open borders crowd which let the invaders stay in our country until their bogus asylum claims can be adjudicated.

because of congressional apathy, negligence and incompetence...

AND CORRUPTION...never overlook the deep, broad corruption, which is awash in DC thanks to the trillions of taxpayers dollars that flow into that genuine sewer.

But the key is he declared the emergency with Congress’s (unknowing) blessing: by signing the budget that admits there is a problem, now it’s a fight about how much money, not principle.

I think SpewMore’s lawyers figured this out too late on Friday when they were urging Trump to sign the bill-—hoping Trump’s suspicions that SpewMore wanted him to sign would cause Trump to react and NOT sign it. I.E., SpewMore’s lawyers concluded they had been played too late.

Because the constitutional argument in ZERO ways sways public opinion.

You can lament that all you want, or you can win the game.

Trump/DeVos or whoever is in charge of education should make kids video or game about foundational stuff - constitution etc and have it available in all schools. not forced on kids but available, for people of all ages.

Many people I know say they just don’t have time to read and look up things for themself so this could be an easy way to get more truth of constitution etc out there?

Congress has rode the gravy train of establishment elitism for 50 years and are now afraid the people may take that away.

“He could have taken the EASIER, and FAR more Constitutional route, by terminating the welfare state in all its shapes/matters/forms”

Hah, there’s a wet dream if there ever was one. Immediate civil war to follow. Never mind the fact that’s a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

One thing at a time.

Yup. The fact that this is never mentioned by the admin is not good. They keep deferring to congress and the courts.

The invasion is only increasing and NOTHING is being done about it. It’s bad. Really bad. It could be north of 100,000 per month and ‘our’ fed govt is so corrupt and inept they can’t/won’t do anything about it.

It’s breathtaking.

Every kid has their heads in their phone. There should be time for history... there are games, videos... set rules for these kids.. even adults need to learn what they missed somewhere along the way. It’s for sure even the media is absent of any truth and knowledge of our history.

The hard liberal left, got into our education system and did a number on the youth! The hard liberal left has managed to get into all the influences of daily lives... and wreaked havoc with all that is good.

It’s not a game and we’re not winning jack sh!t

America is being invaded and NOTHING is being done about except talk about 3d chess and sh!t bills that aid and comfort the invaders.

It’s obvious that PDJT is either under the gun of the corrupt state or he’s full of sh!t. I’m hoping it’s the former.

I plan to win the game by doing what Margaret Thatcher said: “First you win the argument, then you win the vote.”

To win the argument for the recovery of America’s Free Constitutional Republic, you have to change the consciousness of people by telling them the truth. Over and over.

Repeating lies is how the Left has brought us to the brink.

It is up to us to repeat the truth and recover our our country.

Telling me “what is” is useless. It take FAITH to change what is and it takes faith to retain freedom. Facts change instantly. Truth never changes.

The Constitution, the most inspired political document ever created is the Supreme Law of the Land and the ONLY legal bulwark of freedom against the tyranny of the feds. That is a fact and the truth.

It is time to fight for our freedom and the Constitution that protects it. To hell with the status quo, popular culture, and conventional wisdom.

We’ve got another “trump” card. It’s God who is with us and I think will bring our blessed America another miraculous victory in the recovery of our Free Constitutional Republic.

It is not apathy,it is not negligence, and it is not incompetence. The government of the US is on the side of the invaders. Look at the evidence of the last 40 years. Has the government once secured our borders? This is where we really are as a nation and we need to recognize it and say so.

Trump offered to extend but that was rejected. He tried to end it but a lower court tood him he couldn’t so he’s waiting on the supreme court. How a lower court can say executive action by one president cant be undone by another is ridiculous on its face but that’s where we are as a nation.
