It has been two and a half weeks since Jussie Smollett reported that he was the victim of a hate crime, and in that time, his story has fallen apart completely. Recent developments in the case have suggested that the Empire actor staged his own assault with the help of two others in a desperate attempt to stay relevant as his character was possibly being written off the show.
A CBS Chicago reporter broke the news Thursday evening that the home of the two "persons of interests" in the widely circulated community alert was raided by Chicago police. In that raid, they seized a list of items including multiple containers of bleach, a "red hat," an Empire script, a Mossberg rifle, and two computers. The home is occupied by the two men, and at least one is an extra on Jussie Smollett's show, Empire. The pair left for their home country of Nigeria immediately after the "attack."
TMZ reported that these men were taken into custody at O'Hare Airport Wednesday night when they re-entered the country and were immediately brought in for questioning by police, who had been monitoring their travels.

Sources close to Chicago reporters have said the police were able to crack the case after their request for Smollett's call log was denied by the actor. They subpoenaed the phone records instead and continued to publicly treat Smollett as a victim of a hate crime. When he finally turned over a PDF file of his call log nearly two weeks later, investigators were able to examine which calls the actor omitted compared to their own official copy. His own tampering with the call log helped police narrow down which calls were important and who might have assisted in the hoax.

Leftists are liars and cheaters. Why do we as a society support them? I know I try my best to not support their causes or their businesses. However, can our society survive which such a large group of people constantly perpetrating hoaxes and lying all the time?

Yet the media played their tune.
Official copy? What would that be?
This makes it sound like the police subpoenaed Smollett's call record from the phone company (labelled by the police as the "official copy"?) as well as Smollett's own log just so they could compare them for tampering.
Looks like Smollett's going down.
The sad thing is that his ‘career’ is finished. He’ll be tending bar, and driving a Uber by the end of this year.
As Ravi Zacharias says (and I paraphrase), what exactly do atheists and non-believers have that they can base their moral beliefs and standards on?
Nothing, actually.
They live in a Western Judeo/Christian culture and only pretend to live by and uphold the values of that culture. They only "pretend" to uphold them because they lack any reason to believe in those values.
It appears to me that they are like Marxists who are citizens of a free capitalist country. They may live in that country, but they do not believe in its values of freedom and capitalism. In their hearts, they are traitors and as such are only bound by the laws of that country to the extent that they are not publicly discovered to be in violation of them (and hence subject to prosecution).
Well, it appears that is good preparation for becoming a Congressman...if he first becomes a socialist.

This is worse than a simple hoax; this was racial and political incitement.
The growing group of people who perpetrate these are simply a reflection of the growing group of people in this economy who simply aren’t viable. They can’t compete, and they know it. This guy was about to lose his gig, right? Fall back on race racketeering/fabricated homophobia to start a Kaepernick-like blacktivist career...
Hopefully this clowns manager is being exposed for his part in this hoax.

I maintain the whole plot was an ill=advised attempt to get Trump to tweet something negative. It was an incredible story from the beginning and never meant to hold up under scrutiny. Had Trump taken the bait, though, the mediaites would have gone into overdrive and that would have overtaken the story.
Trump saw through it.
I only hope he’s turning the screws on the FBI to fully expose this hoax and all who were behind it.

Both were subpoenaed (Smollett’s and the phone co. record). I don’t think a record becomes an “official” record just because it was obtained by subpoena.
No the telephone company provides that.
