And then confirms that he doesn’t even have his own party’s support. That looks real good to those who want an impeachment of him.

Evidently you want that on the record too.

No one says they’re going to vote for any Democrat. To insinuate that is a little sophomoric, wouldn’t you say?

The risk is the base falling into apathy and sitting home on election night. Why? Because an increasing number of people see that elections change nothing. At best, it’s a speed bump.

I’ll ask you what I started asking elsewhere - are we getting closer to tyranny, or further away from it?

I see you don’t understand the problem.

The Republicans at large have been sticking it to us for years, if not decades.

There is no realistic hope they will reform now or after another election.

Any honest observer would conclude there is simply no political solution to getting our country back.

I suggest you turn Rush and Sean and Mark off for good - they are part of the problem.

You think we need confirmation the party doesn’t support the President? Are you kidding?

It is well known the RNC, GOPe, and many in Congress not only do not support President Trump, they have been actively working against him!

DoughtyOne - wake up!

To lump Rush, Sean, Mark in with the “Pubbies” is foolish.

So let’s say PDJT vetoes the bill...which he may...likely negotiations is going on behind the scenes as we speak.

What happens if they override his veto? Hmm?

I do understand the problem as there are maybe 2-3 congressmen who are not part of the cabal.

Don’t insult me by saying I don’t get it. They have been living their luxurious lives with their castles and calling us their slaves for years, to the tune of $23,000,000,000,000 of money we do not have. Double it for what we really owe, maybe even triple.

If the veto is overridden then so be it. At least the President isn’t pulling the trigger, and he can look us in the eye and say he is still fighting the good fight.

Political expediency is exactly why we are in the position we are in today.

Because we are tuned in, we know.

We sometimes think the general public is as aware as we are.

You start reciting what we know to some family members and friends, and you’ll get this blank look and side glances.

The public is not aware that this nation is as exposed to corruption as we are.

It’s hard to fathom for me how bad it has gotten.

It’s literally impossible for folks who work nine to five and support a robust family to keep tuned in to the degree we do.

They think they have an idea, but they don’t really know.

I’ll be sure to vote for William Weld in the next election.

Man, are you ever right!

I gave up on some people who just will not believe that (for example) several of the alphabet agencies have been shamelessly working to destroy this President from DAY ONE.

It seems you are alluding to the fact that I do not take that into account. Now that I think about it, you’re right on that as well.

I wouldn’t say we’re all political junkies, but we all care very deeply about our country, our culture, and our future. Some of us, including yours truly, fly off the handle and say things they don’t really mean or insult others unintentionally.

Not many things stir the emotions like what we’re facing today. Hopefully we realize that at the end of the day we’re all on the same side.

I agree with that, and I have to keep myself in check too. And I’ll admit, I’m not too tactful at times. It does go with the territory as you mentioned.

Yes we all are on the same page. We care a great deal about our nation.

Look, that budget bill was a disgusting thing. It angers all of us. Sometimes it’s hard to keep things in perspective it’s so destructive to our hopes and dreams to see what is happening to them.

Thank you for the nice response.

You take care.

Okay. I’m sorry if I misunderstood you. We are going to need each other going forward.

We’ve got 5 years or so to get it in gear and make it happen.

It’s late, but not too late. History shows that America has snatched victory from the jaws of defeat many times and there’s no reason to think that this time cannot be different.

Staying home, or voting 3rd Party, is effectively the same as giving 1/2 of a vote to the actual opposition. Most people who do this are, IMHO, miffed about candidate X not being pure enough. That is the problem that we conservatives/Republicans have - we are, as a group, so idealistic and individualistic that when someone doesn’t agree with us, we go it alone. The problem with that is that this is how you lose elections. The Dems, for all of their faults (and they are legion), are at least party loyalists. They fall in line and vote for the party nominee (with, of course, a few exceptions - which are notable because they are rare). So, the collectivists win more elections because they are, well, collectivists.

So tyranny is creeping closer, mainly because a bunch of lone wolves don’t understand that (as a very wise man - Franklin - said): “Either we all hang together, or surely we will all hang separately.” The tyranny isn’t coming from our side’s actions, it is from our side’s INaction in seriously fighting the collectivists.

I know these people, I’ve studied them for my whole life.
My paternal grandfather left Russia in 1923, right after the Reds won. They took everything that his father owned, and effectively made his entire family serfs for the Communist lords. Once he met Kerensky, who had taken power after the Czar left. Kerensky had (naively) hoped for a democratic resolution of Russia’s problems, and didn’t crack down on or eliminate the clearly aggressive and totalitarian Reds...so he and all of Russia lost, from his weakness. We are repeating that mistake, and Grandpa is probably spinning in his grave.

Oh, I forgot to mention: my grandfather nearly spit in Kerensky’s face, and probably would have beaten him if there weren’t so many police in attendance (because look at how Trotsky ended up for opposing the Soviet powers that be). Kerensky’s inaction and cowardice had cost my grandfather his family. He never saw his parents again, and only saw a few siblings in 1969, 46 years later. He wept at how miserable their lives were, and also about finding out that his father had been beaten to death by the NKVD for the “crime” of renting out 3/4 of his home in order to put food on the table (as a 74-year-old with cancer, he couldn’t exactly go out an work).

So I despise these collectivists with every fiber of my existence. I see what is coming if (or, more realistically, when) they regain the Presidency - and it chills me to the bone. Our way of life will be extinguished, with the only question being whether we will fight for our nation and our progeny’s right to be free, or meekly submit.

I also understand he can choose not to spend some of the ‘refugee’ slush money. I understand money was appropriated to care for and transport illegals. Well, can’t he not spend it?

Do whiners EVER EVER STOP on this board?

Leave personal problems at the door please as they seem to spill into this forum.

Get off your fat a##es and run if you think you can do better :)
