Take the canoli if you don’t want to ride in the trunk. Seriously though, Columbus was one of the most visionary, courageous and determined explorers of all time. Yes, there were incidents of native abuses but oft times that went both ways. I recall Cook rode in to object to his ship getting ripped off and got killed for his trouble.

Leave Columbus day alone or visit Jersey one way, capiche?

I live in South Carolina and in 1992 our city dedicated a statue to Cristoforo Colombo on the 500th anniversary of his landing. The ceremony was picketed by “activists” from our local black college for its “insensitivity to first arriving peoples”. They wore black waiter uniforms & black sneakers with red laces.

Police ran them off & told them to get a life. So when is Columbus OH going to change its name?
