Among many memorable moments at Tuesday night's SOTU speech, President Trump vigorously defended freedom in Venezuela and opposed the dictator Maduro.
Two weeks ago, the United States officially recognized the legitimate government of Venezuela, and its new interim President, Juan Guaido.
We stand with the Venezuelan people in their noble quest for freedom — and we condemn the brutality of the Maduro regime, whose socialist policies have turned that nation from being the wealthiest in South America into a state of abject poverty and despair.
And then Trump went there...he dropped the big S-Word on the Democrats in the House chamber...and it was glorious.
Here, in the United States, we are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country.
America was founded on liberty and independence — not government coercion, domination and control.
“Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will NEVER be a socialist country. We are born free...and we will STAY free!”
BOOM!
Democrats did not know how to react. Nancy couldn't figure it out. Half the chamber looked stunned and confused, without their pollsters to tell them the proper response, when Americans were applauding their TVs!
Then the camera gave us the PERFECT shot of Bernie Sanders...and he was NOT happy!

Lots of them looked thunderstruck when he tied Venezuela to what they espouse...he didn’t leave them anything to rebut except for what they probably think was a blunder about being at war with the Norks if he hadn’t won....hope they step in that one with both feet.

Trump has put it on the table that socialism is in compatible with American freedom. You can’t shift that much money from the people to the government and maintain freedom.

It’s a wonder any of us survived without our parents taking bonding paid vacations. Of course, a lot of us had mothers who recognized that taking care of her own kids was what good mothers do. We bonded.

Many years ago, my gym locker was burglarized; my wallet, watch, and a couple other items were stolen. I reported the theft, police arrived to take the report officially. Cop told me that they put out ‘stolen property’ notices at pawn shops and the like, but not to expect anything. My stuff, he said, had likely already been sold on the street and the money already gone up somebody’s nose.
