No doubt. However it is not a nearly century long tradition that gives a platform to the Presidient, a President who happens to champion Americans, why would you want to throw that away in the middle of a coup? It boggles the mind.

Your archaic historical precedent is unwelcome even though yoy did get to use the kabuki line

You fail to realize that overtime there is change that permits the nation to actually see the President recite the state of the union.
