1. Britain walks out of the EU with no deal.
2. Britain announces they will keep the border with Southern Ireland open.
3. The EU then forces Ireland to build a hard border on their side.
4. The Irish finally realise they have been played for suckers by Brussels, and direct their anger where it belongs.
#2 would close the border.

What’s the logic behind leaving if the UK is going to continue to allow the free movement of people and goods?
Most “Leave” voters didn’t want free flow of Europeans into Britain (but were ok with Africans, Asians, Americans etc. moving in). Keeping the Irish border open means that Europeans can come into the UK. And it doesn’t help with the fact that the western european supply chains crossing the Channel
