He said that while he did not attend that party where the picture was taken, he did attend another party the same year in which he said he "darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume."
He also said that he did not expect Virginians to believe him immediately or to forgive his actions right away: "I am just asking for that ability to demonstrate that the person I was is not the man I am today.

You must question the opposition research of the Virginia GOP. This information would have been available in 2017 to Northam’s opponent.

There are four photos on your page of the yearbook, three of which are clearly of you and one of which is the one you now dispute, after previously admitting to it. From whom, other than you, did those pictures come?
I know he is really dark in the picture, but isn’t there a facial recognition program that can be run to give a probability result of it being him?
Michael Jackson was among the best of the best. Sad. His medical doctor is partly responsible, if not all, for his death. His doctor should of never given that medication to help him sleep when it for patients in a hospital in use for surgery.
I saw Michael Jackson in The Wizard of Oz with Diana Ross on broadway. I tremendous talent.
So, his defense is that he didn't wear blackface at that particular party, but he did wear blackface at another party? Yeah, that'll get him off the hook.
I fully expect this will turn into a forensic extravaganza with all the CIA facial recognition software applied to the photos and a Muller/Russia like probe including agents interviewing every living two-legger who taught, worked at, and attended his medical school. It is fully worthy of a “48 Hours” investigative special. Somewhere in the fault-ridden canyons of L.A. County, a screen play is being written.
How did they get the interest in pediatrics and the quote about old drunks and old doctors if he didn’t supply all the pictures and review the entire page before it was published? Indeed, it would be very dangerous for a publisher of yearbooks like Northam’s to publish individuals’ pages without getting their specific approval because of possible libel suits resulting from improper, unauthorized publications. The disputed picture, due to its potential devastating career impact, is an ideal example of one nobody should publish without specific advance approval.
