As my Father told me way back when, if you don’t like your Job, quit and find a Job you do like.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had my own construction business for many years. When an employee would whine to me I often said.....Your leg isn’t chained to the ground, you are free to go somewhere else.
Screw them. My buddy is elated he got a paid vacation.
Do us all a favor and quit then. We need to shrink the size of Feds anyway
GTHO Crybabies . . go somewhere when public politics won’t affect your eggshell skulls
Ever work in retail management? It’s pretty much like that. You plan your vacation and it gets put off another month and you try again and again it’s put off and then you get fussed at for not taking it before fall. It’s ridiculous.
Yeah but then they had to go back to work. So their morale is now down.
5 weeks without these government workers getting in our shorts but somehow the Earth didn’t spin off its axis and plummet into the sun. Maybe we can do without them the other 330 days per year too.
The saddest story was about microbrewers not being able to get their beer labels approved and therefore couldn’t see new types of beer. Just why do beer labels need individual govenment approval at all?
Why indeed?! Good question!
One point, there are other industries affected by label approval, and often they have to wait and wait even if the government is open :(
"...it disrupted the core value proposition of the job, which is to be able to make a difference, to work for a purpose."
The core value of every government employee I have personally known is to retire early, work enough time in the private sector to get SS in addition to fed pension. Called "double dipping".
This screed and its cankerous subjects are yet another excellent argument in favor of the elimination of ~75% of the grotesque fedgov leviathan.
Morale problems? They just had a paid vacation and came back to pick up their checks.
Morale problems?
Yes.
A lot of people were classified "Essential Personnel" and required to keep working even as their paychecks were held up. They are pissed at their "Non-essential" colleagues who got a 30-day paid vacation. But you get more of what you reward, and the rewards went to the "Non-essentials".
Expect even more slacking off in the Civil Service ranks. And what about the next shutdown scheduled for February 15th?
What an absurd article. They come back from what amounts to a month’s paid vacation on taxpayers expense. And they knew when they were furloughed they would get their back pay which amounts to much more than the same job in the private sector.
When I became County Supervisor I was told there was a “morale” problem because the County Manager was a tyrant (which he was). We fired him. Then I was told there was a morale problem because they hadn’t had a raise for 10 years. We gave them raises. Then I was told that there was a morale problem because of the new County Administration. I simply told them that nobody should be so unhappy. If they are they should just quit and find a job that suits them better.
Pure trash. If you don’t like the problem go find a real job. You contribute zero to the economy. You are a parasite and eat off private sector workers.
I once had a job where my immediate manager was the most awful bully. I learned early on that you have to fight bullies, but I didn't feel like going to prison, so I just quit and found a bully-free job. That's my advice for these people: Quit. Life is too short to be an unhappy, unproductive wage slave in the federal government.
Pretty much everything about retail management is ridiculous.
The upside is that once you’ve done it you will never in your life complain about any other job. Ever!
The fed “workers” yet again whine. Quit, you self-entitled oafs. Any fed “worker” who gripes they have morale problems should be riffed for good. So many fed “workers” have severe attitude problems...including despising the taxpayers who fund their idiocy. It would be interesting to see a study of how many (and which) fed “workers” sit around watching porn at work, playing computer games at work, run home businesses on work time and so forth. It would be even be more interesting to fire each on caught doing so and yank their pensions. Parasites be gone.
