The US Army has concluded that Iran was the only victor of the eight-year US campaign to remove Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and replace him with a democratic regime.
Thats one of the findings of a massive historical study released Jan. 17, the first major military review of the Iraq wars lessons. Commissioned in 2013 by General Ray Odierno, then the Armys top commander, it was conducted by half a dozen field grade officers at the US Army War College.

Most of them would likely be NeverTrumpers. Bill is their leader.
They weren’t willing to buy his magazine though were they. LOL
A wiser policy (most wise would’ve been George the Stupid not being conned into regime-changing Iraq) would’ve been to support a free Kurdish nation cut from the northern third of Iraq. If that new nation had stayed within its borders, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon would’ve been allies.
I wish Rand Paul hadn't messed up his campaign for President. Instead of expressing negatives toward President Trump, he should've been a ally. I just hope now (President Trump sounds like he's taking charge of the mess he created by not standing up to Chuck, Nancy, and the Masters of War) that Rand Paul has his ear.
> And thats all on Bush, worst GOP president in history <
Right. Blaming Obama for Iraq would be like blaming Nixon for Vietnam. Vietnam is all on LBJ. Iraq is all on Bush.
Think about Saddam with nuclear weapons.
Think seriously about Saddam with nuclear weapons, or even his using his chemical weapons outside of Iraq.
The option to war with Iraq would have been an assassination of Saddam. World leaders definitely don’t want to open THAT Pandora’s box.
What was the cause of his intense confusion?
Trump won the election, which means that his condemnation of the Iraq invasion resonated with voters. It must have been a shock to Kristol.
If Saddam had WMDs he would have used them to defend his regime and himself. How ridiculous to say Saddam had a dangerous weapon when he didnt deploy that weapon when it meant life or death for him. If he didnt use the supposed WMDs to save his own life, they either didnt exist - which even Bush and Cheney finally admitted - or they were no threat in the first place. Bush eventually changed his justification for invading , to Operation Iraqi freedom, bring freedom to Iraqis. In other words, trillions of dollars forregime change - which freed jihadis to go on rampages throughout Iraq and the Middle East
The State Department implemented Bush’s policies.
An occasional paragraph break would have been nice.
Powell and Bush were rarely on the same page.
A few 500lb bombs on Iran leaders would decide the real winner.
