Conservatives warned the White House on Wednesday against striking a deal with Californias two Democratic senators to water down President Trumps judicial picks for the West Coasts federal appeals court.
Sen. David Perdue, a Georgia Republican close to Mr. Trump, said he will call and try to scuttle the negotiations, reported by The Wall Street Journal, that would have the White House pick one conservative, one consensus nominee and one liberal nominee for three openings on the already liberal U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Why do we need to do a deal? This is totally within our purview. We can do this with 51 votes, and weve shown that we can do that. We stuck together as a Republican caucus in the Senate and delivered results for the president. And he has sent up really good candidates, Mr. Perdue told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday.
Mr. Trump has repeatedly railed against the liberal bent of the 9th Circuit, making talk of a deal all the more stunning to the presidents allies, who say he would be squandering a chance to dramatically reshape the court.
The court has six vacancies to be filled. Mr. Trump had five nominees pending at the end of last year, but they all got sent back at the end of the last Congress. He has since renominated two of them, but the other three have faced opposition from Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, California Democrats.
According to multiple reports, the senators are trying to reach an agreement with White House Counsel Pat Cipollone to shape the presidents list.
Conservatives see the 85 federal court judges confirmed during the presidents first two years as Mr. Trumps best accomplishment.

Perhaps so, but it never hurts to let them know we're watching.
Believe nothing
There is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for President Trump to compromise with the RATS on his selection of ANY justice or judge AT ANY LEVEL.
If you are even talking to Feinstein and Harris, you simply do not know how to wield power.
It is curious why those judges have not been resubmitted...
FLAKE IS A JACKASS...
IF something wasn’t going on, then why weren’t their names resubmitted like everyone else’s?
Trump CANNOT CAVE on the 9th Circuit...
conservative, (50/50 chance a liberal)
one consensus nominee (100% chance a liberal)
and one liberal nominee (100% chance a communist)

Trump is all about leverage. He has total leverage on judicial picks. No need to compromise.
That federal court is broken. The 9th Circus Court has their rulings vacated or reversed on appeal 80% of the time. look it up. When they get it right, it’s because they got fooled.
That court is a magnate for judicial legislation and a corrupted tool of the left. That’s all. It needs to be fixed or done away with altogether.
Haul Jvanka’s a** out of the White House now.
Worth repeating, couldn't have said it better.
There's no reason for Trump to deal with DiFi and Kamy, they're both jerks.
Magnet, not magnate. (Whoops)
Exactly, we don’t need to deal.
We really are watching. Rush spent much of his opening monolog blistering this whole idea, an EXCELLENT thing for him to have done.
McConnell, last year, ignored the so called “tradition” of the Senate in honoring so-called Senator’s “blue slip” to withhold a nomination (for whatever reason) going forward. It is or was by State each Senator could exercise a “blue slip” and stop a nomination.
That is GONE. No more. Di Fi and Caramel Harris have zero blue slips... so if this is some dealing McConnell is trying— it needs to stop. The Senate Republicans should support the Republican President’s nominee for what is clearly a LIB 9th circuit which they CANNOT possible support— unless they are real RINOS judicially, as in.... epa, abortion, globull warming etc.
