Chicago police say they’ve reviewed hundreds of hours of footage from downtown surveillance cameras but haven’t found footage yet of the alleged attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.
The department said in a news release late Tuesday that detectives reviewed footage from privately-owned cameras near where Smollett says he was attacked and will broaden their search by reviewing footage from traffic cameras and public bus cameras.
Smollett told police he was walking downtown near the Chicago River at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday when two masked men hurled racial and homophobic slurs at him, beat him, threw an “unknown substance” on him and put a rope around his neck.

11:18 AM PT — We’re told cops recently visited a Target Department Store close to where the incident happened and obtained surveillance footage. Our source says the video shows one person — presumably Jussie — walking down the street. Officers also visited a nearby apartment building to ask for video.
Even AP recognizes when they are being scammed. They reserve the right to be the scammer.
This supposed episode must be this week’s anti-Trump agony, while the resistance works on one for next week.
Makes you wonder why the reported depraved murders that we hear about everyday just don’t rate notice.
But as W famously said, NOTHING is worse than racism. I suppose those people who were murdered are thankful that they were murdered rather than to have heard a racist slur.

These allegedly racist bigoted MAGA supporters, were out on a bitter cold night, wandering around, on the off chance they would encounter an actor they hate, so they could attack and claim Chicago is MAGA country?
