WASHINGTON—Three years after fighting a surprisingly competitive Democratic primary race against Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Vermont independent, is making another run for the White House.

Two sources with direct knowledge of his plans told Yahoo News that Sanders, an independent and self-described “democratic socialist,” plans to announce his presidential bid imminently. While Sanders has been considering a bid for months, one of the sources said he was emboldened by early polls of the race that have consistently showed him as one of the top candidates in a crowded Democratic primary field. In particular, the source said Sanders was heartened to see numbers indicating he is one of the leading candidates among African American and Latino voters, two groups he was perceived as struggling with in 2016.

I don’t know about that.

Sanders would have been a real challenge last time. Now Trump has been President he is stronger than Bernie.

But he is a real, serious challenger, I firmly believe.

He will be after a core part of Trump’s voters, and they are vulnerable right now in my opinion, because Trump has seemed far, far too wedded to the globalists, thus far.

It is still very early, but Trump really has to get serious about challenging China, and being for the wall.

Now.

“...self-described “democratic socialist,”...

SOCIALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State forces you to give one to your neighbor, shoots the neighbor and forces you to milk them both, giving all milk back to the state.
The State gives you a cup of sour milk.

MARXISM
You have two cows.
The government takes both and shoots you.

COMMUNISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and gives you nothing.
They shoot your family and put you in a gulag.

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, promises more free cows, lets you vote and gives you sour milk.

FASCISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and sells you some milk.

NAZISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and shoots your wife and kids.

BUREAUCRATISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, shoots one, milks the other, and then throws the milk away.

TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

CONTEMPORARY WALL STREETISM
You have two cows.
You sell one, bundle the other with a goat, a mule,
and two dry cows.
You pile into the derivatives market, buy a Gulfstream
and when it all comes down around your ears...
You go to the government for a bailout.

He’s male, white as they come, and 77. Don’t think so.

I give Bernie Sanders some credit, he stood by ICE while Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand and Kamala Harris (Harris even compared ICE to the KKK) were calling for it to be abolished in the midst of that hysteria about border separations last year. I'd certainly take him over those three crazy ladies.

Sanders strikes me as an old school Democrat. He said he opposes illegal immigration, saying in 2015:

"Open borders are a Koch brothers proposal. Right-wing people in this country would love … an open-border policy. Bring in all kinds of people, work for $2 or $3 an hour, that would be great for them. I don’t believe in that. I think we have to raise wages in this country."

Very old school, when Democrats cared about American workers and unions. Modern Democrats openly sell them out for the Hispanic vote.

Our side did not make a stink about it in a way to deal with it.

Neither of her parents were us citizens when she was born.

She is not eligible. Law is extremely clear about it.

Of course Trump did, I’d be curious if he’d be willing to go there again.

Sanders’ entry would split the Democratic Party far-left wing (perhaps “far far-left” would be a more accurate description), creating some interesting dynamics.

The race after Iowa:

Sanders
Warren
McAuliffe

Perhaps Booker

Will a Western candidate break thru in Nevada caucuses?
Is this stuff interesting?

They all said that back in 2015. We’ve seen the videos.

The only way that Sanders can be described as an “old school Democrat” is if the Woodrow Wilson school where “socialism and democracy are … one and the same” is meant.

The “Moderate” is going to be Bloomberg. He will seem like the only sane person on the stage.

In 2016 no one in the Democrat Party realm was willing to take on the presumptive nominee who it would appear had forged an agreement with BHO in ‘08 to be his successor, assuming his attaining 2 terms. So Bernie was the only Dem alternative to Hillary.

This year, Hillary is no longer the presumptive, and there’s already an open and very crowded field; he doesn’t have the same advantage as in ‘16.

Then, too, there’s the too old/too white thing going against him and the fact that everyone knows he sold out eventually to Hillary.

I meant on the immigration issue. Sanders is not nearly as left on that as some of the other Democrats running, who, again, say crap like “abolish ICE.”

You know that graphic of the zombies scaling a wall?

The Democrat presidential field may get to 40 at this rate, and every one of them is going to be scrambling over the top of each other like these zombies swarming the wall in an effort to be even more leftist and radical than the one before.

Imagine if Maxine Waters threw her hat into that ring?

No wonder people in the rest of the world are both fascinated and repulsed by our politics.
