It's three weeks of not causing a drag on the economy to negotiate.

Trump will never get credit for anything he does that's good for America. Never. But you can be damned sure he'd be pilloried if thousands missed out on their crab legs because their food stamps ran out. It wouldn't be worth it.

There's a hard deadline to negotiate.

As long as he doesn't offer amnesty, no citizenship, not permanent status, and gets funds for the wall/barrier he's doing his job.
