UPDATE: 3:55 a.m. EST In an interview Thursday with Russian magazine International Affairs, the countrys Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned the United States against military intervention in Venezuela. He was answering a question about the possibility of U.S. military intervention in the South American country, after the Trump administration said the presidency of Nicolas Maduro was illegitimate, and recognized instead of the leadership of Juan Guaido, who declared himself interim president Wednesday of the Latin American nation.
We caution against this. We believe that this would be a catastrophic scenario that will shake the foundations of the development model we are witnessing in the Latin American region. Where, as you know, one of the slogans, one of the conceptual elements of self-perception, self-identification of these very close fraternal countries in the vast region of Latin America is unity in diversity, Ryabkov said in the interview.

Democrats and fake news say Trump and Putin are always on the same side.
Oh wait... they arent on Venezuela. There goes Russian collusion right out of the window.
I hope Maduro loses badly, but I wouldn’t be thrilled if other countries publicly stated Hillary was our president, and that the 2016 election was illegitimate. Plenty certainly believe it because of the globalists’ non-stop mantra to that effect...
The collusion has always been between the American left and Russia, most recently with Hillary selling a national security asset to Russia for personal profit.
Can you imagine what would be happening now under a President Hillary? We'd be mobilizing troops right now to support Maduro.
Is any other nation required to honor the Monroe Doctrine?
And does the Monroe Doctrine allow the US to send troops into South American countries who have not attacked us?
Well, there was Panama, I suppose...but I can’t imagine Trump putting US on the ground in Venezuela. People voted for socialism, let them dig their own way out, or they’ll just do it again.
Russia does not now, nor has it ever formed part of Western Civilization. Under Putin it remains, as it has always been, an Oriental Despotism.

"But [Fondaminsky's] analysis that Russia contains elements of both Western and Eastern civilisations appears to be correct; any attempt to understand Russia will be distorted by accounting for only one of the two halves."

Freedom must be earned, not granted.
Anyone who can 'give' you freedom can take it away.
Meanwhile in the USA, Nancy Pelosi has declared herself to be the legimtely elected prime minister of the country
There’s a certain amount of truth to the statement. Just look at Putin. His phisiognomy: Half European, Half Asian. Unfortunately, the Asian half invariably dominates.
