If I were Trump, I would turn the furloughs into permanent layoffs so the government employees could draw unemployment.
1. He gets to say they will get a “check.”
2. The check won’t cost as much to the taxpayer.
3. Those jobs can be phased out.
4. The unemployment is generally for 12 months
5. It lights a fire under the Rats because the last thing they want is to reduce the number of union workers paying dues to Rat re-election campaigns.
Dont forget that those 800,000 federal employees are considered non-essential.
“Dont forget that those 800,000 federal employees are considered non-essential.”
During a Clinton shut-down, he floated the idea that he, too, would not go to work, you know, solidarity with the “non-essentials.”
His staff and advisers went ballistic, “How can you think that? By doing that you are telling the American people that you are NON-ESSENTIAL!!”
400,000 non-essential and superfluous. I know some of those. But the others are considered essential although that can be debated. We have a federal TSA and ATC and unless those are privatized those workers are necessary.
