Pelosi Statement on Trump Speech
January 19, 2019
San Francisco — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement in advance of the President’s address:
“Democrats were hopeful that the President was finally willing to re-open government and proceed with a much-needed discussion to protect the border.
“Unfortunately, initial reports make clear that his proposal is a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total, do not represent a good faith effort to restore certainty to people’s lives. It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the House, and taken together, they are a non-starter. For one thing, this proposal does not include the permanent solution for the Dreamers and TPS recipients that our country needs and supports.
“Democrats support smart, effective border security solutions:
Increased infrastructure investments at our ports of entry including additional ports and roads;
Advanced technology to scan for drugs, weapons and contraband where the vast majority of drugs come in to our country and advanced technology to detect unauthorized crossings;
More customs personnel including filling the more than 3,000 customs and border patrol vacancies; and
More immigration judges.
“Next week, Democrats will pass a package of six bills agreed to by House and Senate negotiators and other legislation to re-open government so that we can fully negotiate on border security proposals.
“The President must sign these bills to re-open government immediately and stop holding the American people hostage with this senseless shutdown. Each day he prolongs this needless crisis, Coast Guardsmen, FBI agents, border patrol officers, TSA agents, and hundreds of thousands more workers are forced to live without knowing how they can feed their families or pay their bills.
“The President has taken pride in shutting down government. Now, he must take action to open up government.”
“For one thing, this proposal does not include the permanent solution for the Dreamers and TPS recipients that our country needs and supports. “
If people had any doubts that the demoncrat party is an anti-American crime syndicate representing illegals, this should disabuse them.

Trump has set the Democrats up for the kill!!! Pelosi will go down in flames...within six months Democrat Steny Hoyer will be the Democrat Speaker of the House!!! If Pelosi is not removed, the Democrat Party will destroy itself politically...Trump will win this one big time!!!
What is your problem?! Most of us are upset and call out amnesty as unacceptable. That is not trolling! And your rudeness is boorish and inappropriate. If you support amnesty, work permits, and government benefits, fine. Defend that. Please. Love to hear your reasoning for that amnesty which even the Democrats have enough sense to say no to.

An unstated /s Besides, if she is rejecting amnesty, I’ll cheer that. Trump is giving away amnesty too cheaply. If he is to give any, it should be for full wall funding and NOT include government benefits or work permits. These are kids—supposedly—so they do not need work permits.

I am not that smart, but it seems to me Trump should answer Pelosi’s offer to “talk” about border security after he caves by reminding people they have been “talking” about border security for 30 years, and we have 30 million illegal aliens to show for it. It is time to act, they have had plenty of time to talk.

@Reno. He didn’t offer amnesty for ALL illegals. A DACA is a kid that was brought Illegally across the border, often by the parents. Often they actually assimilate into society and want to work. These are under age Illegals that have to go through a process to become a citizen. The ones that commit crimes are deported. The adult Illegals are deported regardless. And No Piglousy isn’t asking for amnesty, she’s Demanding OPEN borders and sanctuary cities to shield criminals. I usually agree with most of your posts, but you didn’t think this one out. The wall has got to be built to stop the flow first. Getting the ones here OUT is a very difficult and slow procedure especially with all the sanctuary cities.
Pelosi is one of those females you don’t ever have to deal with on any level. They are full of anger and revenge and will not stop till they have bankrupted you and made you sorry you ever crossed their path.

Quit trying to meet her demands.. the fact you are asking and trying, gives her satisfaction... that’s part of the revenge. Walk away and leave her in her anger and hate.. do whatever you have to do in spite of her. Don’t ask, don’t offer and don’t apologize.
If the dems give this thumbs down, the president should lay off all of the workers effective immediately, so that they can collect unemployment insurance. This would be perfect. Relief for the poor Washington bureaucracy that hates him, they’d have to fork over less money, and he can NOT call back anyone he doesn’t want back.
