I have my great grandfather’s straight razor. It’s pretty wicked looking.
My first husband was a Viet Nam Vet. He shaved with a straight edge. Every week day. He was cool. very cool.
Well I am not proficient with one, but I tried it out. They are sharp as hell, not a surprise I guess, gotta be careful! They work pretty good on the straightaways, but if you have a chin it takes some practice on those areas. I didn’t kill myself on first use though, so that’s a plus.
