A diet has been developed that promises to save lives, feed 10 billion people and all without causing catastrophic damage to the planet.
Scientists have been trying to figure out how we are going to feed billions more people in the decades to come.
Their answer - "the planetary health diet" - does not completely banish meat and dairy.
But it requires a ginormous shift in what we pile onto our plates and turning to foods that we barely eat.
What changes am I going to have to make?
If you eat meat every day then this is the first biggie. For red meat you're looking at a burger a week or a large steak a month and that's your lot.

Who wants to tell them where they can shove their latest Obamanation?
the soylent green diet?
Dirt
Soylent Green?
That is the dream of the leftists, to clamp everyone down under that kind of control. Just the next step for Michelle 0bama’s school lunch program. The ones eating big steaks every night will be the elitist rulers and their close supporters.
Barf alert! Barf alert!
Meat contains too much "toxic-masculine" cholesterol, so the snowflakes think it would be "sexist" to eat it... /s
How about we cook the “scientists,” and feed them to the starving masses?
In fact, perhaps we should do the same with all these leftist so-called “scientists,” particularly the 97 percent that claim humans cause climate change.
Think how much CO2 output would diminish if all those pointy-headed windbags were suddenly gone. Of course, there would be a slight increase in methane emissions from their digestion.
Isn't that offensive to bulimics? ;-P
I was really expecting this to turn into the monthly "eat bugs for Mother Earth" thread.
Scientists should work together to advance the planet not try to destroy it with all these Obama Droppings
I work with several vegetarians and they’re quite healthy.
If Free Republic had a like button I would click it for your post. Phony scientist and phony news real dangers not cheese burgers.
Our self-appointed betters, dictating to the serfs how to eat.
If it involves insects, count me out.
So who is going to tell the ETB cardholders that they cannot eat Ribeye, T bones and Prime Rib every day like they do now?
Then maybe the rest of us could afford the above once in a while.
Nonsense. It is not about saving the planet, or feeding more people, it is about control. Who are these “scientists,” why do they even proffer these “guidelines.” Pure unadulterated crap. The “scientists” have been saying this for eons, yet “catastrophe” seems to be averted every year.
Their idol is Paul Ehrlich, a fool who wrote “the Population Bomb.” Paul Simon wrote “The Ultimate Resource” and refuted everything Ehrlich ever said and challenged him to a bet and won every aspect. The ultimate resource is the human mind coupled with freedom to do what sets it free to do. That is what these elites do not want you to have, knowledge and freedom.
Solyent Green not far off for the NWO planners.
