Attorney general nominee William Barr will tell the Senate Judiciary Committee at his confirmation hearing Tuesday it is “vitally important” that special counsel Robert Mueller be allowed to finish his investigation into Russian election interference.
"I will build on the work already done by Special Counsel Mueller and current Department of Justice leadership and ensure the full might of our resources are brought to bear against foreign persons who unlawfully interfere in our elections,” Barr is set to tell lawmakers, according to his prepared remarks obtained by the Washington Examiner on Monday.
President Trump nominated Barr in December to replace Jeff Sessions, who was on the job from early 2017 until his forced ouster in November.
“I believe it is in the best interest of everyone — the president, Congress, and, most importantly, the American people — that this matter be resolved by allowing the special counsel to complete his work,” Barr will say.

Barr has that familiar err/smell of the DC swamp. You’d think Trump would’ve been more selective of his AG choice and would’ve chosen an outsider that is NOT a DC swamp dwelling lawyer.
Barr is a Swamp Creature.
At the same time Republicans should launch a REAL investigation into FISA abuse.

Why? It is obvious to a blind man that this is a political operation designed to cover for an FBI coup attempt. It won’t end until someone has the balls to call it what it is and stop pretending it is legitimate.
Barr won’t because Mueller is his buddy.
My immediate thought was that Trump is not afraid of what will be revealed. Perhaps for the reason you mention but nevertheless, not threatening to him. I trust that as POTUS, he probably has some pretty solid information about what is going on in the investigation. If Mueller comes up with nothing but trivialities, only CNN and MSNBC will get worked up about it. The general public will wonder why the Washington Establishment wasted some much time and effort on a nothing burger.

For extra fun Trump needs to make an unannounced visit to FBI HQ, and walk into the directors office. Rifle through files, sit in his chair. Have him give you the password to his laptop.

Probably another bad staff choice by trump. The guy never learns.
Not impressed at all. Mueller has already finished the investigation into what he was supposedly tasked to do — look at collusion. Now he is just on a wide ranging witch hunt. Barr’s longtime friendship with Mueller and his deep state ties mean more of the same BS we have been undergoing with Rosenstein in charge. The Dems and the media would be having a fit if such an investigation was being conducted against one of their presidents — like Obama who really needed an investigation.
But couldn’t someone on his staff who cares (and I know a lot of establishment snakes got in there) like Sarah Huckabee, Kellyanne, or even Don Jr. let him know this?

Who in the administration vetted this guy? No one cares what dem Senators think of the AG Nominee. They are the irrelevant. minority. He will be approved by the Republican majority without regard to partisan Dems and whomever Trump sends up to the Hill should only reflect Trump’s philosophy when it comes to the AG Office.
