Flanked by members of a local African-American faith community, a defiant Scott Israel defended himself against allegations of incompetence on Friday and made clear he would fight his suspension on any front necessary whether before the Florida Senate or in state or federal court.
Israel, 62, a two-term Democratic sheriff of Broward County, was suspended by Gov. Ron DeSantis three days after the new Republican governor was sworn into office. DeSantis cited a list of failures enumerated by a state panel that investigated BSOs response to the Feb. 14, 2018, shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Hi.
“because of his cowardice and incompetence. “
Yep.

The story behind Nikolas Cruz and the shooting of 33 former classmates and staff is one of the repeated failures of the system from the FBI to the school to the sheriffs office to social services. The massacre was very foreseeable but politics got in the way. Specifically, politics, funding of more than $53 million, and Chicago school discipline got in the way.
This Was Obama-Chicago Discipline----The Superintendent of Broward County Schools, Robert Runcie, came out of Chicago and the Duncan-Obama administration.
The Miami-Herald reported: In 2003, Arne Duncan, then head of the Chicago school district and later Secretary of Education under Barack Obama asked Runcie to oversee the districts technology department. Runcie went on to serve in other administrative roles, including as chief of staff for the Board of Education, before becoming the Broward schools superintendent in 2011.
In 2016, he made $335,000 a year in a region that has poor mental health services due to lack of funds. He was well-paid to bring down the numbers and alter the so-called school-to-prison pipeline. It was supposed to happen as a result of the Promise program.
The Promise---- The school board instituted a program called Promise which made not reporting criminal behavior a standard policy. Police said they did not have discretion in arrests, according to the President of the Sheriffs union. The Promise [Preventing Recidivism through Opportunities, Mentoring, Interventions, Support, and Education] program kept Nikolas Cruz from getting arrested. Not having a record allowed him to buy guns.
The program began in 2012 as a way of dealing with the district recording the highest number of school-related arrests statewide (over 1,000). Superintendent Runcie, with strong connections to Obama, was expected to stop the alleged school-to-prison pipeline.
The program was geared towards keeping minorities out of prison. The killers name was Cruz, making him a minority. An agreement was drawn up with police and community organizations like the NAACP which kept kids out of jail based on race but didnt necessarily deal with the issues they had.
Principals, instead of school resource officers [sheriffs], became the primary decision makers in responding to student misbehavior. Misdemeanors were supposed to be overlooked but records suggest more serious crimes were ignored to keep the money flowing. The district had to continually show improvement in statistics. Obama's federal PROMISE program, adopted by Broward, shielded the troubled Nikolas Cruz from getting arrested even with some 47 L/E visits to his home. Holding fast to Obama's PROMISE plan was the order of the day-----not protecting students.
PROMISE consisted of falsifying official govt records, lying, and bribery to steal huge amounts of federal money. Kickbacks all around kept the scheme going. Why did Sheriff Israel's deputies hide while students and faculty were being slaughtered? Broward deputies were actually told NOT to go into the High School during the mass shooting. Holding fast to Obama's PROMISE plan was the order of the day-----not protecting students.
It is common for a Congressman to secure federal monies for their district.
<><> What part did D/W/S play in securing the $58 million bribes, er, I mean tax dollars Obama showered on Broward for keeping minorities off the arrest roles?
<><> The troubled Cruz was visited by Broward police some 47 times before the massacre.
<><> Where are the police reports of L/E's 47 visits?
<><>Did D/W/S have any nice things to say about Cruz BEFORE he massacred students and faculty?
<><> Did D/W/S have a hand in keeping Cruz off the arrest records so Broward could cash in?
<><> Can the imbecile Sheriff and the Congressional beast from Broward account for all of Obama's $58 million?
<><> The good-for-nothing Sheriff also had a $800M L/E budget. Can the bozo account for all that money??
"Your cut of the Broward money is in a numbered account in an offshore French Polynesian bank, my President."
The Jamaican Runcie looked mighty worried (below) when the Sun Sentinel caught up with him for the story of multiple
exiting school officials....all of them subjects of the murdered students parents' escalating anger.
Supt Runcie alerted School Board members of the departure of human resources' Nichols, head since 2015 who ignorantly
overruled the firing of a school security guard found sexually harassing students, including one of the murdered students.
Parents were outraged to learn that School Security Guard Medina was still employed by the school.
In fact, Medina was the first to see Cruz on school property carrying a rifle bag that infamous day BUT DID NOTHING ABOUT IT.
Runcie placed the blame solely on the exiting Nichols. Mr. Nichols signed off on it, Runcie said at the time.
I was not aware of it until after it was brought up." Thats all the $400,000 Supt had to say.
NOTE: Harasser Medina and another security type whose performance on Feb. 14 was deemed ineffective were let go.

The Jamaican Runcie is a sorry excuse for a $400,000 Supt..... he fails to understand IT IS HIS JOB to know these things and TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Broward county.
Tape his mouth and drag him out.
It’s worse than that.
He KNEW these kids. Scott’s own three children, triplets, graduated from MSD the year prior. They all played on the sports’ teams. It was his family’s school. So sad that he is such a worthless POS.
I didn’t realize that. Even sadder.
