I tuned in to Fox TV to watch Trump's Speech on Border Security anchored by none other than Shepard Smith ( and supported by Chris Wallace ).
I was hoping that Fox would at least give some balanced report on Donald Trump's speech unlike the other alphabet channel's pundits.
But just like that Shep Smith, just a few seconds after Trump finished his speech gave the following "refutation" (Note the quotes) of Trump's points ( I think Smith had already prepared his talking points having seen the contents of Trump's speech before hand ):
1) On average, the crime rate of illegals is LOWER than the crime rate of Americans and legal immigrants. It is unfortunate that

2) For the past several years, the number of Mexicans moving back to Mexico EXCEEDS the number of Mexican illegals coming to the USA. In other words, illegal crossings are actually DOWN, not UP.

3) Drugs like heroin or opioids do not mostly come in from our borders with Mexico but from other ports of entries. We should focus on those other port of entries, not waste billions of dollars building the wall.

4) The number of illegal overstays in the USA far exceeds the number of illegal crossings at our borders. Trump is overemphasizing the border when he should be focusing on those illegal overstayers.

5) Trump owns the shutdown because he himself said that he would be proud to own the shutdown. As this drags on for months, millions of people will be without their paychecks to pay for their day to day living.
OK, one thing I would like to request -- please refrain from remarks that say -- Shep Smith is a gay, liberal jerk. I already know how you feel about him.
I want to read your calm, rational, refutations of Shep Smith's arguments. Let's focus on his arguments and refute them.
How tall is the fence around Shep’s house?
How many armed security people does he have?
How many illegal aliens live with him?
Why bother?

Wrong. The crime rate of illegals far exceeds that of Americans. Smith is using a survey (flawed survey) that linked ALL immigrants to show that it is lower.

Wrong. There is no proof available for this statement. Even pro-amnesty Pew can’t verify the number or repatriates, and I’m not aware of any epidemic killing off Mexicans in the US.

Wrong. That “fact” was based on the information that of drugs caught at the port of entry. It is unknowable how much else comes in at the rest of the border. We do know that the sum total of drugs have a Mexican origin

Wrong again. Different surveys state overstays as between 40 and 60 percent. But that is based on using the number of illegals also entering the country, a number which no one knows. Illegals sneaking in don’t report to the Census Bureau. Pew has come out with a number of illegal aliens of 11 million, static now for 15 years. They base it on a guess of how many are here based on how many are caught.

Boo Hoo. Feds, the best paid and most secure employees in the nation, have never missed a day’s pay over all their shutdowns. If they don’t know how to save for a rainy day, too bad.
He’s running for re-election.
DO NOT forget that he has supported every amnesty attempt since 2006, the latest one in 2013.
He’s doing the McCain two-step, sound like a conservative for two years and act like an amnesty whore for four.
You really think Graham is in trouble in SC? I don’t. I think he’s trying to keep the GOP base together for 2020. If GOP voter turnout is low a lot of the Chamber of Commerce types will lose and the Senate will go along with Trump. THAT is what he cares about.
Did Shep Chimp complain about Trump always getting two scoops of ice cream?
Crime rate of illegals is 100% as they break our immigration laws.

Thank you for clearing that up for anyone that forgot their primary colors and the fact water is wet. If someone breaks into your home but didn’t take anything they still broke into your home, you can’t trust them, and the law would consider them to have committed a criminal act. Well, the law in probably every suburb/city/rural area besides a particular village that shall remain unnamed. @@#$
Shep is wrong on every one of his points.
A first-time visa overstay is often a civil infraction. Illegal entry is at least a misdemeanor.
Illegal migration=100% crime rate
Visa overstay=less than 100% crime rate.
This is simple logic. A person with a visa passed at least a simple vetting process for entry. Illegal entry will include all those who can’t pass a vetting process, ie criminals.
So, if the rate of crime is lower for illegals, the victims of those crimes should be happy? What is the cost of investigating and prosecuting those crimes? How many mouths could that feed?

Last I knew, he lived in a multi-million apartment in a large building in Manhatten NYC, with his boyfriend.
I wouldn’t watch EITHER Sheppie or Chrissie.....EVER! FOX is mostly unwatchable!
