Grandpa Rich called me tonight. When I asked how he was doing, his answer was FANTASTIC.
Richie passed his swallow evaluation with flying colors. He was given the dye in a gel like substance in a sippy cup. When they tried to take the sippy cup away, he bit down on it in an attempt to keep them from taking it. He is a fighter! The substance went to his stomach without any problem. His digestive system is working fine.
They are going to start introducing him to small amounts of solid food by mouth. This process will be slow since his stomach is not accustomed to anything other than liquids.
Rich asked me to thank everyone for your prayers. Your prayers are keeping the family going during this difficult time.
WVNan told me she sees Richie running and playing. That is now my vision for Richie’s future. Join me in this vision and keep Praying.
Thanks so much for the encouraging update. It is very positive. Yes, Richie is a fighter and will beat this.
