All I've read is that Vice President Pence was red-faced with fury at having to swear in the bisexual atheist Simena on a copy of the Constitution.
I can't find any actual evidence of this. Only photos of Pence smiling as he carries out his task.

As in the House, the legal oath is taken on the Senate floor without props, followed by a kabuki photo op oath in the ‘Old Senate Chamber’ where senators bring their favorite props.
