Pelosi has a message for Trump: 'Nothing for the wall'

Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi told NBC's "Today" show in an interview set to air Thursday that she will not provide President Donald Trump with the border wall funding he has demanded and shut down the government over.

Asked by NBC's Savannah Guthrie if she was willing to give up any money specifically for the border wall, Pelosi said "no."

"We can go through the back and forth," Pelosi said in a clip that aired on MSNBC on Wednesday. "No. How many more times can we say no? Nothing for the wall."

Capitulation is not really a game plan.

Has it never occurred to these politicians that if there is ever a tipping point among the American people that causes them to water the tree of liberty, those that loudly and continually obstructed the President at the detriment of the people will be looking to hold THEM directly accountable?

“He must have chastized her so badly she was clearly distressed beyond recovery.”

God bless President Trump. Let’s pray for him more. Greatest man we have in America.

“There’s nothing surprising about Pelosi pandering to her base...

Wouldn’t it be nice if Republicans pandered to their base?

Keep it shut down. Keep shutting down more and more until people start realizing that life goes on just fine without them. Then start asking “if we didn’t need you all this time, why do we need you now”?

Be interesting to see how Dems reacted if Trump moved to reorganize the FEDGOV to permanently do without all the furloughed workers.

You certainly don’t hear of “non-essential” workers in the private sector.

My prediction is 2 years of crazy/insane from the House.

40% of the country loves Trump. 40% hates Trump mostly because they are stupid. The other 20% will decide the elections. A majority of those 20% decided to give Blue House a whirl. Most of those 20% do not want or expect a Blue House to spend 100% of their time impeding and resisting Trump. They are ok with more spending, not concerned about an added $5B.

Democrats support those who break US laws. Great example for their children. Wonder if they will be surprised when their children break other laws?

Pelosi “represents” one congressional district in insane California. Schumer “represents” the crazy state of New York. They each think they represent the people of the United States. They don’t. The President is the only elected official that is chosen to represent everyone. I’ve always wondered why some representatives and some senators have more power than other representatives and senators. Shouldn’t my representative and senator have as much say in all matters before Congress as any others? I think so.

Keep the fed shut down. People need to learn to do without the non-essential spending.

The lack of the Wall can be laid at the feet of Paul Ryan. He rope-a-doped President Trump for two years, using glib talk and distracting patter to run out the clock -- "We'll get to it next time", "We'll get to it in August", "We'll get to it after the midterms".

Hate to say it but President Trump was played by Paul Ryan but good. After his first year, President Trump should have read the riot act to Ryan. I only hope that Karma catches up with Ryan someday. He is long due for a Karma call.

I agree that Ryan was a huge obstacle to Trump’s initiatives. But I think it was the fault of the House Leadership, not Trump and it is they that should have removed him from the speakership after year one.

It appears the Dems are going all in on backing their major constituencies - illegal aliens, parasites, and criminals.

We shall see how well that works out for them. If it somehow does, what is left of our Constitutional Republic is finished and we will have to move on to the last box.

They will lose big if the GOP holds firm and enunciates and sells and markets the position of protecting borders..
