Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein penned a letter on Thursday urging the chamber's Judiciary committee to schedule a hearing about Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and its “treatment of immigrant children.”
The letter was addressed to incoming Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and said the request came “in light of the deaths of two young children in Border Patrol custody this month.”
An 8-year-old boy from Guatemala, who was identified by the country’s consul in Phoenix as Felipe Gomez Alonzo, died on Tuesday while in U.S. custody, immigrations officials previously said.
Customs and Border Protection revealed that the boy died at a medical center in New Mexico. He was taken for care and found to have a “common cold” after an agent on Monday “noticed that the child showed signs of potential illness,” immigrations officials said.
Before he left the hospital, staff discovered a fever. He was discharged in the mid-afternoon with prescriptions for amoxicillin and Ibuprofen.

Boy, most of us are really tired of the aged and extremely wealthy DiFi. Everything is a big deal to her, except her schemes and misdeeds.
How does she claim this is within the ambit of the Judiciary Committee? Cause she’s on it?

She's trying to throw the scent off what the real problem is. It's not 2 dead children in US custody. It's lack of a border wall that would keep these kids and their families from trying to illegally cross into the US.
It's been reported that 24,000 unattended kids have been apprehended at the border in the first three weeks of December so far. 2 kids dying out of that total is unfortunate but it happens. Especially if they are not the healthiest and have been subjected to immense pressures of traveling thousands of miles with out proper care or supervision.
Feinstein is trying to divert attention from the real problem with immigration. The failure of her democRAT colleagues from approving funding for Trump's wall.
