Remember the wife of Nixon’s Attorney General Mitchell?
Martha? But you gotta watch out.

While on a phone call with Helen Thomas about the Watergate break-in, King pulled the phone cord from the wall. [Martha] was held against her will in a California hotel room and forcefully sedated by a psychiatrist after a physical struggle with five men that left her needing stitches. Nixon aides, in an effort to discredit Mitchell, told the press that she had a “drinking problem”.

She (Martha Mitchell) was a two fisted boozer and only drank the good stuff. I have that on good authority from a retired WH staffer who was also my govetment class teacher... as politics played out we got a running commentary in class everyday before the lesson started. Facinating stuff, which over time has been proven true over and over again.
