Newly elected New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a self-described Democratic socialist, called for a furlough of congressional salaries in the event of another government shutdown on Saturday.

“It’s completely unacceptable that members of Congress can force a government shutdown on partisan lines & then have Congressional salaries exempt from that decision,” she wrote on Twitter. “Have some integrity.”

Wow, for once Helter Skelter Eyes is right about something. It’s not enough, though, to start calling her Alexandria Occasionally-Coherent.
It took decades to program Obama too. They have a long term plan for her.
Yet she has managed the impossible; approval from this forum.

She (Martha Mitchell) was a two fisted boozer and only drank the good stuff. I have that on good authority from a retired WH staffer who was also my govetment class teacher... as politics played out we got a running commentary in class everyday before the lesson started. Facinating stuff, which over time has been proven true over and over again.

I agree with her also. Her youth, political naivete and lack of education make her oddly blunt and brave in a bizarre way.
This is exactly how Obama rose to prominence and the presidency. Neither Obama nor AOC are anomolies, nor are they the only ones in the Leftist grooming pipeline.

Congress critters will just draw from their campaign funds as they say they are working on the people’s business . Cortez has been given the secret weasel decoder to sound reasonable while still speaking the forked tongue of the political class

Very good point. It’s funny how many Congress folks enter as thousandaires, and leave as millionaires. Congress exempted itself from insider-trading rules. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Yes but that isn’t the reason she is there. She is there to help people, once she finds out the democrats really don’t care about people, just their votes and their own power, it will be over for her.
She just said probably the most intelligent thing to come out of Capital Hill in a while. The idea that people should work for their paycheck definitely isn’t a leftist idea here. She broke rank, Bernie is pissed right now reading this in the Communist Times.
She came up with an independent thought, the Democrats HATE that. They will need to whisk her away to a reprogramming camp ASAP
She is there to represent the Millenial generation, that is why the Democrats have her there, if they didn’t want her, she would have been gone by now. She gives the Millenials someone to look up to instead of just seeing old white men and women who should be in the nursing home. I have the feeling the top brass of the democrats are using her to take out low level leadership rolls held by aging white men so they can be replaced with younger people. That is why they keep her.
But how long will that last?

How about making illegal, campaign contributions from anyone but actual living individuals, instead of unions and corporations, for profit or otherwise?
