GoFundMe for border wall raises more than $2M in just 3 days

A supporter of President Trump’s border wall proposal has started a GoFundMe to help pay for the project — and the fund skyrocketed to more than $2 million on Wednesday night after being live for just three days.
Brian Kolfage, a Trump voter and disabled Iraq War veteran with no connection to the administration, wrote that he set up the page because “President Trump’s main campaign promise was to BUILD THE WALL. And as he’s followed through on just about every promise so far, this wall project needs to be completed still.”
Trump campaigned on building a “great wall” on the southern border during the 2016 presidential election.
As the end of Trump’s second year in office comes to a close, his administration has not built the wall or secured funds for it — and a budget proposal passed Wednesday by the Senate did not fulfill Trump’s call to provide funds for it.
Kolfage wrote on his fundraising page that if every Trump voter donates $80 to his wall-building campaign, they will raise $5 billion needed to build the border wall.
“Even if we get half, that’s half the wall. We can do this,” Kolfage wrote on the GoFundMe page.

It’s as much about making a statement as anything else and if you don’t get that then go pound salt.
Know what would be cool? To have Trump Tweet about this action. “look! they want it done! Let’s get it done!” :)

If this momentum continues as it has thusfar, Trump WILL comment, count on it.
This is one of the most creative protests I've ever experienced.
I don’t think he could get away with linking it, but just one mention would be HUGE in it’s self. It might cause all the MSM who are not willing to cover it to actually cover it. Even if it is negative, exposure is exposure! There are a whole lot of folks out there who will say “Well... if the MSM don’t like this then I’m in”.

I think it was in 2008, Grassroot Ron Paul supporters raised 6 million dollars in just 24 hours towards his campaign. It shook up the establishment so much that the RNC had to actually change their bylaws to help lock him out.
It made a statement that could not be ignored. And it was done exactly like this is being done now.
The record collected by GoFundMe for any single entity was $21.5 mil for TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund and that was over many months.
That record should be broken in the next few days.

We are seeing something similar here. This is a PROTEST and it's getting very loud. It's a very creative and out of the box way to get a message across. I'm not as much concerned with the amount raised as how many people donate.
PS It’s approaching $5MM and 80K individual donations as of this post.

That campaign has had only 21,534 donors as of now. Average donation: $1,052.
The wall campaign has raised $4,865,000 with close to 80,000 donors. Average donation: $61
I wonder if this is already a record for number of donors.

Yep, I am elated to see this happening, where a very targeted issue is being supported in mass. This is needs to be done much more often if we are to ever get back what has been taken away. This is the very action needed to combat critical legislation in States who are setting precedent for the rest of the nation. Like targeted legal funding in extreme mass against unconstitutional 2nd amendment legislation. Make it huge, make it something that cannot be ignored, let it be known that we WILL rally together if they touch it.
