Because there is no one willing or able to prosecute them. The lawyers in government agencies, the prosecutors in government agencies, are all in the permanent government class. They are all Democrats or GOPe. There IS no one else.
When the U.S. created, over many years, a gigantic permanent government work force...it was then that the Republic ended. You are just seeing the outcomes proliferate now. We are heading to full on Marxism. Very quickly.
That is a separate topic in many respects. The same laws should apply to everyone and maybe Trump or our AG could say, time to look across the board, assign investigators or a special counsel if they can’t be trusted to do that. Look at every American working for a foreign government—first, cancel any security clearances, second, cancel any access to government staff or offices. Maybe put them all on watch lists and scrutinize their electronics when they return from overseas? Traitors are traitors and doesn’t matter their party or past roles in government.
