He was trying to goad Flynn into agreeing to withdraw his plea by suggesting if he doesn’t he could be sent to prison, or worse prosecuted for treason. After he thought about it on the break he realized he went too far and went into court aNd retracted aNd apologized. He was doing anything carrot aNd stick to get Flynn to change his mind. Finally he was able to get Flynn to agree to postpone on the hopes Flynn will eventually change his mind.

1. Judge Sullivan is a moron who never should have graduated from law school. I'm not even a lawyer and I know that treason would not be an applicable charge even if Flynn sold out the U.S. on behalf of Turkey.
2. Judge Sullivan is working to string this process along until Flynn's legal team is confident enough to not only withdraw Flynn's guilty plea, but mount a legal challenge that would end up getting Mueller's team sanctioned for prosecutorial misconduct.

In postponing sentencing until March, does that imply that Judge Sullivan is quite confident that Team Mueller will still be in high gear into the spring and beyond? I suppose the Flynn sentencing can be done even if Mueller were winding down, but the Mueller people did not suggest to the judge that there was any reason this case needs to be expedited now. Mueller may be going on forever, contrary to what some people keep claiming.
