South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg will not run for re-election in 2020, opening himself up to speculation for a possible presidential run.
Buttigieg made the announcement that he won’t be running Monday morning at South Bend City Hall.
Some political pundits view Buttigieg has a Democratic candidate for president, based on his military experience and status as a Rhodes Scholar.

I spent a lot of time in the South Bend/Mishawaka area. They are really twin cities. South Bend is the typical democrat controlled city. Mishawaka is not. Mishawaka is thriving and growing. The only thing that keeps South Bend going is Notre Dame. If this guy is the mayor of South Bend it’s not much of a resume enhancer.
