Ok so you are a “Physics Guy”...
With all due respect, I am wondering what credentials do you have regarding power grids, transformers, etc. to say “bull Shiite”??
Just wondering because a smart Physics guy should note that article mentioned NOTHING about EMPs. The article posted seemed to be focused on terrorists hacking the power grid.
You don’t think a power grid hack is possible?
BTW, what is wrong with being prepared so you don’t have to depend on government or neighbors in event of an emergency?
I live in a fairly well-off suburban community of 150,000. I contacted my town’s emergency management director a couple years ago regarding disaster preparedness teams. He said it is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when a disaster will hit, so it is good to be prepared...

Go back and review your physics. The physics of an EMP are well-defined, understood, peer-reviewed, modeled, tested and analyzed.
