Liberals are now suffering under the heel of the monster they created to attack the rest of us just trying to mind our own business, and its a beautiful thing. But its also really sad and a sign that things will get much worse for all of us before they get any better.
Most people dont care about the Oscars. As the ratings have shown, fewer and fewer people each year watch them. This is due, in part, to the fact that the Oscars hold so many of us in contempt political lectures and condescension are more common in acceptance speeches than thanking a manager.
They also nominate movies based on their left-wing messaging more than their audience appeal. No one wants to sit through a 4-hour lecture celebrating movies about how oppressive, racist, unfair, unjust, nasty, etc., the country is only to be subjected to a 30 second speech reinforcing the same from someone paid more for 3 weeks worth of playing make-believe than the average American earns in a year.
If you set out to alienate as many people as possible, youd be hard-pressed to create a more efficient and effective model than the Oscars have created.
Thats why it was simultaneously hilarious and sad to see what happened this week to Kevin Hart when he was announced as the next host of the program.
In less than a day, comedian Hart went from as high as person whod just be asked to do something theyd always wanted to do, to resigning and apologizing for things hed tweeted nearly a decade ago.
Hart did what comedians do he wisecracked on social media. His problem was he used nasty language, words now deemed homophobic. He probably shouldnt have, but mostly because his cracks werent funny.
I couldnt care less about the use of those words, or any words. I make my living using words and grew up in the Sticks and Stones school of life. Unfortunately, the idea that words will never hurt me is being stuffed in the woodchipper of Social Justice.
The progressive left now preaches the idea that words are violence. This is absurd, of course, but they get a lot of mileage out of the concept from the dimwitted, particularly on college campuses. They arent concerned with actual physical violence perpetrated in the name of tolerance, but they are willing to raise Hell and destroy anyone who uses words they consider offensive.
While the targets of these outrage mobs have traditionally been conservatives, this mutant army of the professionally offended class theyve created has been turning on its creators with greater frequency. And Hollywood, after championing this thought purity Gestapo, has seen its share of high-profile scalps claimed by it.
Its been kind of amusing to watch. Conservatives even got into the act when director of the wildly successful Guardians of the Galaxy movies, James Gunn, was fired when years-old stupid tweets of his were deemed offensive. Of course they were, but so what? Weve all said offensive things, horrible things, mean and nasty things, usually to our friends. Some of the worst things Ive ever said were to my friends, all in jest and for a laugh, but if theyd been recorded or tweeted theyd be a Sword of Damocles hanging over my every move, haunting me as I waited for them to be discovered and weaponized to get me fired.
Its become such an accepted part of our culture now its likely to be an Olympic sport in Tokyo 2020.
Thats the real problem, there doesnt seem to be a way to stop this monster.
I always enjoy when a liberal Frankensteins Monster returns to their castle to destroy it why should they get to set the rules and not have to live by them? But this is a monster that should be destroyed, no matter who it targets.
We cant take a joke anymore, offensive or not, which makes us all the real joke. None of this ends well.
Kevin Harts scalp now sits atop a growing pile of scalps, pointlessly collected in the name of social justice or some other stupid, destructive progressive concept. Dismissively pointing out that Hart is a liberal will only give a temporary reprieve from the reality that were slowly committing societal suicide, but speeding up a little more every single day. And while the latest scalp is that of a liberal, the next one could be anyones. This is why we cant have nice things. And if we cant stop this destruction from within, maybe we no longer deserve them.
Nothing as funny as the “revolution eats its own” phase.
We saw this coming when the SJW mob forced Al Franken out of the U.S. Senate seat he stole for a photo taken a decade earlier.
This is incorrect.
Nobody cares about the "Oscars" because the films being awarded are unworthy. The awarded films are dreary, poorly written, shabby directed, and over-acted ego strokes that are attempting to advance an agenda, not entertain.
Last film I paid $$$ to see was American Sniper.
The guillotine eventually claimed those who ran it.
Why do people fear basement dwelling keyboard komandoes? I can understand how doxing can be a problem, but darned if I would bend over backward for something I said, particularly in jest.
The Tolerance Party tolerates no dissent or deviation from their script of hate...
This is what happened after the french revolution. They executed their own leaders.
James Gunn, was fired when years-old stupid tweets
One tweet read: I like when little boys touch me in my silly place.
Thats not stupid, thats sick.

Didn’t work.
I look at the Oscars the way most of the country looked at them in the 1930’s. I really don’t care.
This is just an extension of Communist Chinas Cultural Revolution.
Remember Obamas Fundamental Transformation?
Here we are.
He stole that seat fair and square, and it's an outrage he should lose it for such a reason!
Ah yes, the hagiography of the snowflakes, the triumph of the most easily offended which leads inevitably to ever greater efforts at being offended because the real rewards of the victim trophy. This is a prime and unexpected side-effect of the internet non-press, the ability of the basement dwellers to influence the rest of the world. When the ‘press’ was measured by the cost of the column-inch or the broadcast minute, there were eagle-eyed editors, answerable to their cost-conscious masters, to winnow the wheat from this chaff.
The Oscars, along with the other pop-culture award shows, are a prime example of what is now infecting the internet, the ability of the ephemeral movie people to gain publicity by acting outrageously. This has been done for decades but now, with the effective primacy of the LEFT and its chosen cohorts of the MSM and pop-culture, it is magnified.
I haven’t watched any of these for decades yet the MSM is always ready to tell of their importance in my life. Water off a duck’s back for me!
Good article. Too grew up with “sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me”, and I tell that to my grandchildren every time I think they need to hear it.
Forgiveness is also apparently out the window. Anyone committing the sin of not being politically correct must be destroyed.
the oscars are awards for people who pretend for a living.
I’d rather support awards for people who actually do some thing in their lives not pretend to be someone or have done something.
the older I get the more it amazes me we celebrate pretenders (celebrities and many politicians, many leaders of various organizations who are just do nothing figureheads) and they get paid huge amounts of money and lavished with perks, yet most of us live daily lives doing thousands of unrecognized more important things.
Throughout history it[the revolution[ always has eaten its own.
“Nobody cares about the “Oscars” because the films being awarded are unworthy.”
^This. They do it every year, so even if all the films are garbage, they can still pick the “best” for an award. If just once someone from “the Academy” would step up and announce that no films made during the past year met their standards for an award, it might be more entertaining.
