Trump came in as a “competent manager” type, not a revolutionary - which could have been successful in a different time when the opposition was not hard-line totalitarian Marxist, as it is today.

If you need a revolution, you need a real revolution. Electing a president, particularly one with no organized political movement behind him, will not do it. Electing a president does not overthrow a government in need of complete removal. At best, it can provide a bit of reform around the edges. If you need a revolution, there is no quick and easy method, it’s extremely messy...and I doubt Americans have the wherewithal or spirit for that.
