5 Republicans who could challenge Trump in 2020
The Week ^ | December 6, 2019 | Matthew Walther

Remember when half of American white males over the age of 40 declared themselves for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016? There were so many candidates that they couldn't fit them all on two packed debate stages. One guy stayed in after receiving a grand total of 12 votes in the Iowa caucuses; in New Hampshire, Jim Gilmore's showing improved to 133, an unprecedented 1,000 percent increase. Reader: He didn't withdraw for another six days.

Trump had 62 million votes in 2016.

I would bet that if a RINO managed to take the ticket in 2020 the turnout would not reach 55 million.

If Trump doesn’t start kicking some ass and getting the wall built, he won’t get 55 million votes in 2020. The dems and the RINOs know this..that is why they are stonewalling.

Is that not what a Republican is supposed to be?

Trump is a Republican.

Republicans are not Republicans.

He signed one of those stop gap spending bills that he said he would never sign again.

As far as I can tell, when Trump said we’re going to build a great wall with a big beautiful door in it, and Mexico is going to pay for it, he was utterly full of sh!t.

This is not good.

He’s finished, and there’s really nothing we can do civilly at this point to reverse course.

If Kasich enters Trump knows he can’t win so he will fold. Flake will beat both Trump and Kasich. President in waiting Flake.

Concur.

The dems are going to run on Amnesty and Forgiving Student Loans...and win.

We moved into a gated community several years ago so we could at least have some sense of security...I’m afraid that it won’t be enough.

Truly pathetic.

My mistake. Rhonda is his niece. Trump is still her boss and to that extent, kind of makes it difficult for Romney to primary him.

Are you talking general election or a primary? No, I wouldn’t vote for Romney in a primary.
Yes, I and most Trump supporters would vote against him versus Alexandria Cortez. You wouldn’t?

That is why I think Cruz is not going to run.

************

I think Cruz is waiting until six years hence when his just
elected term will be up and Trump will be finishing his 2nd.

Oh, it's the better of 2 evils cock'n bull jackassery again? Are you kidding? 35+ years of corrupt globalist and collusive open border Republicans never even hit your radar did it?.

Let me be clear just for you, if things don't go well for Trump because of corrupt Republicans and their lack of support for Trump through 2024, I'll never vote for another Republican again, unless another outsider like Trump steps up. But that's not likely is it?

Is this clear enough for ya?

Are you illiterate? I just said I wouldn’t vote for Romney in a primary. I suffered through 8 years of Hussein and if his female Bronx mini me is on the f’n ballot, I’m f’n voting against her. I’ll crawl over broken f’n glass to vote against her while charlatans like you sit home. DID I MAKE MYSELF FVCKING CLEAR ENOUGH????

Feel free to continue voting for corrupt establishment insider Republicans...It works out so well for America in the past 30+ years leading up to Trump! And none of these party posers and likely you too, just couldn't understand how that possibly happened! Geezuz..So have at it slick!☺

Keep voting communist by abstention. Great fvcking strategy, brilliant even. I’ve never left a communist on the ballot without registering my vote against, but Bill Kristol over here has other ideas because you’re a true conservative. I wish the left were as dumb as our trucons. God forbid we actually roll back some of their totalitarian programs.

I supported the greatest President in modern American history while it seems you support a political party, regardless of leadership or policies. Great strategy ya got there slick.

And what did those in your precious Republican party do other than throw down spike strips in front of Trump starting way back in the campaign? Once again, if Trump isn't supported fully by the Republican party through 2024, I'll be voting 3rd party or Independent. Get it? It's up to them. Not me.

For those paying attention, I and millions of Americans had a belly full of the Republicans looong before the Trump era. You obviously missed all that. And if not for Trump, the Republican party would have been dead on the floor. The other insiders club, the Democrats, would have ate them alive in 2016.

It sounds like ya have BVS or 'Battered Voter Syndrome'. Those inflicted by this abnormality get repeatedly lied to, cheated on and economically gang banged over and over, yet they keep going back for more. They can't seem to get enough abuse.

Good luck with that.☺
