An investigation referred to Justice Department prosecutors by Special Counsel Robert Mueller earlier this year into possible criminal activity by Clinton-linked Washington insider Tony Podesta and former Obama White House Counsel Greg Craig is heating up, according to a new report that underscores federal authorities' increasing enforcement of laws governing foreign business relationships.
The inquiries center not only on Craig and Podesta -- a Democratic lobbyist and co-founder of the onetime lobbying powerhouse known as the Podesta Group -- but also on Vin Weber, a former GOP congressman from Minnesota.
The probes had been quiet for months since Mueller referred them to authorities in New York City because they fell outside his mandate of determining whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia.
But in a flurry of new activity, Justice Department prosecutors in the last several weeks have begun interviewing witnesses and contacting lawyers to schedule additional questioning related to the Podesta Group and Mercury Public Affairs, people familiar with the inquiry anonymously told the Associated Press.
The apparent wind-up comes as multiple reports and indications suggest that the Mueller probe into possible collusion in 2016 between the Russian government and President Trump's campaign is wrapping up.
The New York work underscores the broad effects of Mueller's investigation, extending well beyond that collusion question. Mueller has made clear he will not turn away if he discovers alleged crimes outside the scope of his inquiry; instead, he refers them out in investigations that may linger on even after the special counsel's work concludes. Other Justice Department referrals from Mueller have ended in guilty pleas, including the hush money payment case of Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen.

Mueller was at the helm when Uranium 1 crimes were in full swing.

Mueller is trying to cover his corrupt, Democrat Party helping ass with this one. As soon as there was a claim that the Podesta email site was hacked, and the emails were released with all the corrupt goodies in there about Deep State/Democrat Party operations against Trump and the Republicans, Mueller should have started a full-scale investigation.
He didn’t because he would uncover and have to expose Hillary Clinton’s criminal empire including the Clinton Foundation, the treason of UraniumOne, her ties to GPS Fusion/Steele Dossier, Servergate, Email destructions, and security breached on her electronic devices (with classified information on them), and backdoor collusion with Mueller’s old buddies in the FBI and DOJ (all of whom are out now, or pigeonholed into oblivion).

The Clintons always need money. They have to constantly pay off insiders like Podesta and Craig and cover their legal expenses. These insiders are no dopes. They have inevitably created documents and videos to be released “in the event of my death” to avoid arkicide. The Clintons would not go near Trump at Bush’s funeral. Obama has to be worried himself. Yet he probably believes that Trump would not dare prosecute a former black President. stay tuned. Hopefully things will get really interesting.

Does Mueller actually think that the Trump DOJ will go light on him and his Clinton Foundation crimes if he roughs up and cuffs guys like Podesta?

McCabe was referred for Prosecution, but everyone knows it’s not going to happen.
Have they kicked in any doors at 3:00am?
Have they confiscated Client-Attorney communications?
Have they requested Judges extend the Statute of Limitations?
Have they arrested their friends to get them to roll?

I tried to read it. Horribly written. The reporter appears to be a fan really long sentences.
Presidents don’t go after Presidents. Skin color has nothing to do with it. The Office of the President is insulated by many layers who will take the fall. Nixon is the rarest of exceptions and he did himself in while in office, with a Pardon from Ford. Many should go down, though. The conspiracy leads right into the Obama Oval Office. Susan Rice put it in an email, and Strzok put it in a text. The White House (was) running it. Those two go down. Lynch will either go down or flip, if I may guess at it. Time will tell.
It’s at least some cover. Some of his prosecution to date is stuff done each in parallel and with the Podestas. It stood out as a beacon of bias that he was showing no interest in *their* unregistered foreign lobbying that was within cases he was already investigating.
