Financial industry braces for Maxine Waters’ ascent on key committee
Fox News ^ | November 29, 2018 | Andrew O'Reilly

The banking and financial sectors are anxiously bracing for firebrand California Rep. Maxine Waters to claim the chairmanship of the House Financial Services Committee, unsure of what her leadership on the key panel will mean.

Waters, a frequent and vocal critic of President Trump and his administration, is seen as one of Wall Street’s biggest adversaries in Congress thanks in large part to her calls for stricter rules on the nation’s biggest banks and opposition to moves from the White House to roll back financial regulations implemented during the last recession.

She has toned down her rhetoric since the midterm elections but has also called for more oversight, creating somewhat of a guessing game as to what she'll have in store for the industry when Democrats take control of the House in January.

“I don’t know what Chairwoman Waters will be thinking,” Richard Hunt, president of the banking industry trade group the Consumer Bankers Association, told Fox News. “We’re prepared to defend the good work that we’re doing but we’re also willing to work with Chairwoman Waters to make sure we get smart, well-balanced policy.”

Time running out for House GOP to wrap up agendaVideo While the country’s major banks have expressed their willingness to work with Waters, they are all preparing for a very different House Financial Services Committee than the one currently being headed by Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas.

Since the midterm elections, Waters has made clear that one of her priorities will be putting a halt to the Trump administration and Republicans’ moves to deregulate the banking industry.

Absolute insanity. This supremely stupid cow was elected by her like minded constituents and now is going to have a voice in a key area of our country?

The system is broken.

Surely the Republican led Senate can counteract anything mad maxine throws at the banks......please God, let that be so. Our nation’s economy cannot survive this communist’s attempted slaughter of the banking/finance industries.

Fortunately her impact won’t be felt beyond her committee room since she will never get any hair brained legislation through the Senate or past Trump’s desk.

No doubt the mad demon will be working very hard to
destroy any economic progress in the name of socialist
equality.

If we all can’t be rich, we can certainly all be made poor.
Note: This does not apply to democrat politicians.
(Who all some how seem to enter politics as poor,
but leave as wealthy power brokers!”.

We are Advising ALL of our clients to sell off All Stocks and take All monies out of the Wall Street Casino and have everything in Cash Accounts until she is no longer in Congress.

Crash the Entire System and start over.

I suspect the financial execs won’t be giving contributions to the Dems in 2020.

I suspect they WILL be giving contributions or find themselves at the mercy of the House Financial Services Committee.

You see,,,, Maxine isn't stupid. As chairman of the HFSC she would be in a position to shake-down organizations with A LOT OF MONEY, and completely get away with it.

She knows when her bank account is increasing. Give her two years and her finances will be doing great.

“The contributions will probably go up. Sort of like paying tribute to the volcano god hoping it will hold back the impending eruption.”

Let’s just call it blackmail.

DNC: “Nice financial sector you have there, be a shame for anything to happen to it...”

I disagree with the last part. The plan is for her to use the Financial Committee to pressure everyone in the financial industry to 'launch into Trump big time'.

I'd vote to allow her to be in charge of cleaning up poop... that the 'caravan' left on it's journey from Central America to the Mexican border.

The banking and financial sectors are anxiously bracing for firebrand California Rep. Maxine Waters to claim the chairmanship of the House Financial Services Committee...the banking and financial sectors have, for some reason far beyond my understanding, been donating billions of dollars for years to the Democrat party - they will deserve everything bad that happens to them with Maxine in charge.....

Everything depends on what others feed her, especially vthrough her staff. She’s not an idea generator on her own. She’s more of a regurgitator.
