A Texas mom is outraged after a Southwest Airlines worker made fun of her 5-year-old daughters name by snapping a picture of the girls boarding pass and posting it on social media.
Traci Redford, from El Paso, says the agent at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, began poking fun at her daughters name, Abcde pronounced ab-city as they boarded a flight a few weeks ago and put it online for users to shame the girl, who suffers from epilepsy.
The gate agent started laughing, pointing at me and my daughter, talking to other employees. So I turned around and said, Hey if I can hear you, my daughter can hear you, so Id appreciate if youd just stop,' Redford told KABC this week.
Redford said she only recently learned that the agent took a picture and put it online after a friend spotted it circulating on social media.
While I was sitting there, she took a picture of my boarding pass and chose to post it on social media, mocking my daughter, Redford said.

Don’t forget uncle XYZ pronounced shiz.
That is unprofessional behavior by the gate agent. It would perhaps be legitimate to ask if the name was correct, in case of some kind of error, but the gate agent should keep their thoughts about passengers and their names to themselves.
I doubt they would think it funny if a gate agent was named Tiffany and a customer remarked "so where do you dance?", or some equally rude comment on one of their names.
The mother of the little girl also wasn't thinking at the moment she chose the name, since it does seem like a choice which will burden the girl without any benefit.
Pretty interesting story about it all....here...

Ive heard yhis somewhere before. I heard “Absidy” like the government stipend one would get for voluntarily taking on an infection. As in a professional guinea pig.
Good point!
This is something you are not allowed to do in MOST European countries. There is a list of names considered proper, and that will not embarrass the child later in life... it allows for different cultures and religions, but no ABCDE.
Drove by ZZYZX Road on my way to Vegas many times.
Years ago I was driving my 911 Porsche to Vegas past Midnight and decided to see what it could do since there wasn’t a Car in sight. I came around a bend and there was a Big Rig doing about 50 MPH.
Missed it by that much.
My Tombstone would have said, Born in Brooklyn, died on Zzyzx.
What did she expect?
What did she expect?
“Meth is a bad drug for naming kids.”
Either that or “mom” is a pot smoking hippie, while “dad” wears a man bun.
“””DUMBASS NAME!! DUMBASS MOTHER!! WHERE IS The father...”””
If the mother knew, then the kid’s name would be ABCDE’F’
No I haven’t but it sounds like my kind of fun.
Thanks for the tip.
Woman names her child “Abcde” and is upset people think its funny.
On the other hand, there’s no way the agent should have posted a picture of the boarding pass, silly name or not.
no one is laughing at the kid...they are laughing at how stupid the parents are. They probably feel sorry for the kid.
Yeah, that can be a lonely HWY at night.............
The worst is that mom did not just give daughter a stupid name, she gave her the stupid genes to go with it.
I pity the poor child. I assume the father had no say in the naming of the girl, or he is just as dippy as mom.
How about “MNO , “ ?
Spike was 64 and around 250 lbs. so it was best not to laugh at him.
Or he just might...spike you.
