Why Britain Doesn’t Want Trump to Declassify Obamagate Docs (Brennan implicated)

“FISA declassification will assure all the actors who tried to harm America are finally exposed,” George Papadopoulos wrote on Twitter last week. “Alexander Downer, the Australian government, UK, and GCHQ (British intelligence). If FISA is not declassified, these foreign governments will try to interfere again in 2020 to hurt Trump and the movement.”

“MI6 chiefs are secretly battling Donald Trump to stop him publishing classified information linked to the Russian election meddling investigation,” according to the story. “The UK is warning he will undermine intelligence gathering if he releases pages of an FBI application...”

“British spy chiefs have ‘genuine concern’ about sources being exposed if classified parts of the wiretap request are made public, according to figures familiar with the discussions,” continued the story. “‘It boils down to the exposure of people,’ said one US intelligence official, adding: ‘We don’t want to reveal sources and methods.’”

Fortune headlined its story, “Spy Games: Britain’s MI6 Horrified at Trump’s Plan to Declassify Details of FBI’s Carter Page Wiretap.” A lot of heavy weather is made about the threat declassification poses to “precedent.” But what do they mean by precedent? The precedent of a foreign government serving as an opposition research arm of the Democratic Party during a presidential election?

All of the British spy chiefs’ ostensibly high-minded anxieties are designed to distract attention from an enormous transatlantic scandal, one that has yet to be fully plumbed: that the only real collusion during the 2016 election took place between London and Langley. It took place under the hyper-partisan CIA director John Brennan, with Britty dual-asset oafs like Stefan Halper and British spies, both present and past (the Hillary-financed hatchet man Christopher Steele chief among them), putting in critical cameos — a spy ring that nearly catapulted Hillary into the White House.

Yep I can see how this would be a tough call.

Mr. President, declassify and release unredacted NOW, please! The American people deserve to know the truth. Who cares if it implicates dirty actors in the UK!

Some one has convinced him his Presidency is not in danger, it is and therefore the Republic is in danger.

Ask yourself why the President does not reveal the Deep State? He has one month to do something with our traitorous Congress, then I fear it is over. Quit teasing with tweets and just do it or we all will suffer.

two years later - is: just wait, it's coming any day now. Almost sounds like Q. Which begs the question, if Trump is going to act, why did he not act beforehand to influence the 2018 elections?

LOL She obviously reads (and maybe posts @) FR.

It's really hard to argue with reality. You can be the biggest Trump supporter - like I am/have been - by noting that he absolutely holds every card necessary to bring down the entire deep state. And yet, he does what?

BTW, while AC noted the actions of Reagan, I think it's far more relevant to simply reference Hussein (or BJ for that matter). It's a long, long list, so I won't bother typing it up, but suffice it to say, he did exactly what he wanted to do, and F off to any critics and/or oversight.

In comparison, Trump merely whines, complains & insults on Twitter - pretty much the same guy we've know about since the early 80s. I'm still holding out hope, and I've got a big bottle of ketchup for the huge dish of crow I may be eating, but my intuition is beginning to sound off a lot of warning bells.

As am I. I just heard Rush say if he doesn't get a handle on immigration there will be no 2020. He is as frustrated as we are.

I'm actually pretty sanguine about the whole matter. What choice did we really have? Anyone else other than Trump (either Jeb! or Hilldog), and it would already be all over.

So, in many ways, if Trump ends up merely being a blowhard buffoon, he did buy us 2-4 years. In that regard, I view it like the 300 Spartans @ Thermopylae; without that engagement, Salamis may have been lost. (And thus Hellenic Greece and perhaps the trajectory of Western Civ.)

Trump could end this conflict with a divisive blow. Failing that, we're in for a (very) long internecine hot/cold civil war once the uni-party takes back the reins.

Because the UK is not an ally. Their “friendship” is solely designed to achieve their policies, and is based upon a belief that they should still run the world. They intervened in our 2016 election on behalf of globalism. The CIA and FBI are the enforcement arm of the globalists.

Very interesting observation.

I have wondered about that and have pondered the notion that perhaps they are so seething with hatred of Trump that they just can't keep their yaps shut despite the danger they might bring down on themselves. It does seem at times like they are even taunting Trump...daring him to take them on.

I think that they, like Peter Strzok, believe the Democrats have their backs.

I agree and I think we should be looking to establish closer ties with eastern Europe and cut western Europe loose to fend for themselves.
