In fact, consider that Acts 22:25-29 shows that Paul used his Roman citizenship to save himself from being flogged.

Not only would I not be surprised if referenced church is not familiar with 14A, and therefore cannot argue that amendment in its defense not to hire so-called LGBT pastors, but also consider the following.
On one hand, we're stuck with a gridlocked Congress for the next two years, the Democratic-controlled House predictably unwilling to exercise Congress's 14A power to make punitive laws to discourage state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment protected religious expression and free speech in this case.
On the other hand, master deal maker Pres. Trump could probably use 14A as a lever to get Congress to strengthen enumerated protections.
