John Allen Chau, the American missionary who was killed by an isolated tribe on a remote Indian island, reportedly wrote in his journal hours before his death, God, I dont want to die.
Chau, 26, of Vancouver, Wash., chronicled his last days while traveling to the Andaman Islands. He was intent on making contact with the Sentinelese tribe on North Sentinel Island, according to his journals shared by his mother with The Washington Post.
You guys might think Im crazy in all this but I think its worthwhile to declare Jesus to these people, he wrote in a last note to his family on Nov. 16, shortly before he left the safety of the fishing boat to meet the tribesmen on the island. God, I dont want to die.
The tribesmen, who stand about 5-feet-5-inches tall with yellow paste on their faces, reacted angrily to Chaus presence, he wrote, as he attempted to speak their language and sing worship songs.

I think about all they found was his hand and wrist watch.

Nothing wrong with these savages that a big enough tidal wave can’t cure.
Just spare a few bodies to stuff and mount in a museum.
His good intentions will likely get him nominated for a Darwin award-that island is kept off limits by the Indian government for good reason-the occupants obviously have decided from their contacts with outsiders that it is not to their benefit to admit outsiders-they seriously want to be left the f*** alone to the point of killing/attempting to kill anyone unlucky enough to even get shipwrecked near the place. There have been attempts to colonize there, the Japanese more or less occupied the island in WWII, etc-since none of these attempts have resulted in success, it would seem sensible to keep the place off limits rather than have well-meaning-if-foolish people going there to be killed-it doesn’t make sense...
All of the disciples were martyred/murdered except for John. Should they have stayed home to keep safe?
I can’t criticize this man.
Personally, I think that when a culture has not been exposed to Jesus, God has other means of reaching individuals. For example, I have heard of Muslims being visited by Jesus in their dreams. I also heard a testimony of a young man who knew the Gospel and had a praying mother, but he was living life for himself. When he was in a foreign country, he was stung several times by jellyfish and was near death. But he heard God’s voice during that crisis and chose to repent. He lived, and gave his testimony of what he experienced.
Amen
Does anyone remember the book Through Gates of Splendor? -
In 1956, five young men, including Elliot's husband, Jim, traveled into the jungles of Ecuador to establish communication with the fierce Huaorani Tribe, a people whose only previous response to the outside world has been to attack all strangers. The men's mission combined modern technology with innate ingenuity, sparked by a passionate determination to get the gospel to those without Christ. In a nearby village, their wives waited to hear from them. The news they received - all five missionaries had been murdered - changed lives around the world forever. Written while she was still a missionary in South America and at the request of the men's families, Through Gates of Splendor was Elisabeth Elliot's personal account of the final mission of these five courageous men. Filled with quotations from letters, material from personal journals, a wealth of photographs, and an epilogue update, this reprint of the original hardcover edition tells a lasting story of God's grace, unconditional love, and great courage. This story inspired the 2006 box office hit End of the Spear and is sure to inspire the next generation of servant believers. (less)

Things haven't changed in 2000 years and won't as long as we exist on this earth.
This young man didn't have a chance to tell these stone age people the good news, but I guess they just rejected the messenger a little more enthusiastically than America has rejected God. And we as nation are paying the price now that the uncivilized "infidels" are taking power however they can.
Know God, know peace. No God, no peace.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and don't forget to thank the One who has blessed America so richly.
Lol, I meant the tribe that killed them later became saved.
He was a documenter, and somehow at the time of the final attack, he left an audio recorder on:
He had invited some GF up there, so they were both in the tent.
The ENTIRE attack —including when they were eaten— is on the audio recording, the beginning of which I heard.
It’s terrifying and very sad.
From the sounds they make, it’s clear the victims understand they are not simply being attacked, but BEING EATEN.
I thought in such cases death comes swiftly —it’s a BEAR, right?— but in their case it did not.
It was very sobering to me to hear.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
So a couple of questions comes to mind to all those here who think that John Allen Chau was a fool
. Mark 16:14 indicates that he died doing the will of God. Whos will will you be doing when you die? And in the 1 Corinthians reference, who do you think is the one who is 'perishing'?
Since he had no way to communicate with them he wasn't sharing much of anything, was he?
I'm guessing he didn't.
Being the light of Christ, is imitating Christ by how we love others when we are out in the world. If every act we perform is a prayer and a gift of love to our neighbor, then there is no reason to disturb the peace of people in their homes.
The other Andaman Islands were occupied. North Sentinel was not.
Best then to use the brain God gave you.
Jesus told us to GO into all the world and preach the gospel. He didn’t say anything about returning.
Except that he wasn't speaking anything but English and trying to parrot whatever they were yelling at him.
Take what you want from this article. But of one thing you may be certainits given to you in lies. You should never take presentations like this at face value. (Remember, the article is attempting to make a commentary on the number one controversy of all time.)
One of the most important tests of wisdom has to do with the ability to detect patterns. The pattern in pop media for more than a half century has been to portray the Gospel as powerless and believers as foolish. But if you pay attention you will see the deception and the amount of effort the deceivers put into it.
Reminds me a bit of the account of Operation Auca, in which Jim Elliot and other missionaries died by the tribal members they were evangelizing. I understand after their deaths, some of their murderers were converted to Christianity. Praise God, may this martryed young man have similar results.
